Weston Park Catch Report
Report Update 31/1
Weston
Well we are pleased to say, at long last we have opened the fishing up on Weston, although the
water levels are still not ideal, we are just hoping for some more rain! Matt Woods took full
advantage and was first on and rewarded with 5 fish upto 32-10 and 3 good 20’s from the bay
swim and all on the trusted avid bait. Tim Atherton has been amongst the fish as well, catching
two at 27-14 and a 24-00.
We still have one more slot for the open access in April. So if you and some friends (upto 8 but
can be less) fancy a week fishing without all the expensive of travelling abroad and not to mention
the supreme fishing with fish upto 39-15 and fishing the lake at a prime time of the year phone
us 01952463141.
Syndicates
The syndicate list are reviewed next month, with 5 different fisheries, there is a realistic chance
of joining one of them, if you wish to apply we require you to write a letter to Rob Hales at Badger
Hall, Badger, Burnhill Green, Nr Wolverhampton, WV6 7JR
Fishing 23/1
With the fishery finally re-open, it was great to
see the fish both feeding in January, and in mint
condition. Matt woods was first in the bay swim,
and landed 5 fish upto 32lb. Whilst the water level
is rising slowly every day, it is still 2 ft from
being full, so a lot of the fish are holding up in
front of the bay swim and park view swims.

Check This out
Search on You Tube “24hr rod race Matt Hayes” it the 19th June clip by Jonathan Chappell and give an introduction on Matt Hayes brace of 37’s at The Sitch, it will be out on TV soon
The Sitch is a naturally formed breath taking 26 acre estate lake, surrounded by mature dense woodland that boasts a spectacular variety of trees, and is home to a diverse range of wildlife.
The fishery has 20 purpose built pegs, some are situated in the woodland and others on purpose built platforms set out on the lakeside amongst the reed and sedges.
The lake is stocked with 450 young monument strain carp. These fish range from 12lb – 30lb and are growing at a healthy rate, with the number of 20’s increasing each month! There are also a number of 30lb fish with the lake record currently standing at 38lb +. On top of the current stock we also adopt an on going year on year stocking policy with a view to improving on the high end fish we have exceeding 30lb.
The future looks promising for the Sitch as the fish continue to grow. With 450 fish multiple catches are a common place, these fish really respond to heavy baiting tactics and with depth’s not exceeding 4ft you are never too far away from your target.
Syndicate
The Sitch is run as a syndicate from June to March and is a great way to start your fishing carrier on an R H Fisheries syndicate water. Joining the Sitch couldn’t be simpler, just pick up the phone and contact Ed on 07779257812
Open Access
Through the months of April and May we operate an open access policy, we sell the lake exclusively from Sat- Sat for groups of upto 12 anglers. With 26 acres of water to target and 20 well spaced swims, there loads of room (we will consider groups of 6 for half the fishery)
Call Alex on 01952-463141 for more details.
Open Access 15/1
We have had a last minute cancellation on Weston Park for the open access on the 21-28th April. If you fancy a go on this spectacular looking 12 acre estate lake in the private grounds of Weston park then phone us on 01952 463141.
Open access is for group bookings of upto 8 anglers, and the lake has 13 well-spaced swims. The biggest plus about Weston is the spectacular grade 2 listed sand stone boathouse that's is included with full lake open access bookings.
Visit the Weston site to see pictures of the boathouse
The lake holds 204 stunning carp with a new lake record common weighing 39-15, there is a big head of 30's in Weston and a average weight of 25+, they are boilie eaters, and very catchable, as they love the boilies which produce all year round.
If you want to find out more, then call us on 01952-463141 or mail us at info@rhfisheries .com
Weston Water Levels 3/3
Finally we have some good news on weston park, with the recent rainfall and the introduction of a borehole being drill as I write this, the water levels, at long last are going in the right direction. The inlet in the shallow area is coming in at some speed now, so we hope to open at the end of January!!!! We will keep you informed.
Can I please ask you still not to throw any bait in as we are doing so and we can moniter the amount going in, Thanks
RH
Lower Lake Open Access 6/12
We have decided on some of the dates on the open access (Acton Burnell, lower lake only) to allow anglers to book in pairs or by themselves, rather then to book a group of upto six. The two dates so far are as follows 14th- 21st April and 12th-19th May and the cost will be £300 each, to confirm the pegs a deposit will be required of £50. There will be a maximum of 6 six anglers on at once, but could be less depending on bookings and as the lake is around 7 acres there is plenty of room to fish.
The lower lake is a beautiful lake, overlooked by a stunning small castle (folly), the lake is home to the biggest fish on the complex, a 51-00 lb common called "bill " last caught in may at 51-00 by Simon crow. The lake also holds 20 other originals that are all over 30 lb and five of them are over 40lb, there are also 42 young fish which are now mid doubles. The lake has 9 excellent swims which are well spaced out.
To find out more and check availability call us on 01952-463141 or email info@rhfisheries.com
Weston Boathouse 5/12
The Boathouse has again proven very popular this year with very few places left, however in March we have a winner from carp-talk fishing on the 9th-11th, which means we have 2 short weeks either side of the weekend. If you fancy fishing either one of these dates at a reduce rate, on the 3rd- 9th march or the 12th – 17th March then please phone us on 01952 463141.
Update 24/11/11
Hello members, the lake is still looking very sorry for itself!
The little rain we have had hasn't made any difference at all,
we need. some proper rain! Surely won't be long! When we have
drained the lake for fishery management in the past it has re
filled in 6 weeks, so fingers crossed. I have installed a new
dome aerator ,that can run above the fish without damaging them.
Don't forget whilst Weston remains closed all members are invited
to fish the monument free of charge! Just call Alex or Dave on
01952-463141 to book on. It is fishing superb at the moment.
I am hopeful that we will soon get the go ahead to install a bore
whole at the lake to prevent this happening again, it is a huge
expense but Weston is such a fantastic fishery I believe it is
worth the investment.
Your understanding about this freak situation is appreciated.
Fishing
Dear members, we are offering you the option of fishing the
monument free of charge until Weston re opens! We have availability
mon- fri , so if you would like to book on the monument then
please call Alex / Dave on 01952-463141.
The fishery is still closed due to low water levels, however we are finally getting abit of rain in Shropshire so things are improving. Also with a wet week forecast, we hope to
re-open the fishery to the syndicate soon. We also pumped out the chamber in the
overflow to confirm there were no leaks.
Water Levels
At last we have had a bit of rain, with more forecast this week.
I will check the fishery in the morning, and again on Friday,
and providing the level is on the rise will re open he fishery
asap. The full lake will be available when we do re open as all
boathouse bookings have been cancelled or moved, for the
remainder of this year.
RH
Open Access
We have one last date avaiable for Weston Park on the open access, 19th May- 26th May, The lake can be fished with up to 8 anglers, with a total of 12 pegs there plenty of room with some stuning fish to go at, which includes full facities of the boat house for more info Phone me on 01952463141
Update ( Dear Members)
27th Oct, Although the water level has not risen yet, it is raining at this moment. We are due 7mm of rain by the end of tonight, also there is heavy rain forcast for next weds, so fingers crossed we hope this will be enough to open the fishery. We have pump the overflow chamber out to confirm there are no leaks. You are welcometo visit the fishery and monitor the situation if you wish. Finally I am in discussions with the estate regarding the instillation of a borhole next year in the unlikiley event the problem re-occurs RH
Reels for Sale

Catch Report
Unfortunately the fishery is still closed due to extremely low water levels, infact the lake has actually dropped slightly last week.
We have explored all options of obtaining water from within the park, without success. As this is the first time this problem has occurred in the last 15 years, we can hope it won't happen again for a long time. However I will consider the final option of installing a bore hole if levels do drop again, and the estate will grant me permission.
Please be assured we will re open as early as possible, and we have 11mm or rain forecast at the end of the week, so I am hopeful we will re open before the end of the month.
If any syndicate members are walking around the fishery, please don't bait up as it will affect the oxygen level when the fish feed.
Today 10th Oct I have checked the water level , which has held during the last week and the fish seem happy enough. However there is still not enough water to safely fish, and land the fish without damaging/ stressing them. The weather has started to turn, so hopefully we will be able to re open in October. When the water starts flowing in, I will treat the weed in the park view and rodi's to make the swims fishable. I read a Severn Trent report that stated " midlands rain fall during the last 12 months was the driest on record based on data from 1910-2011" that says it all. Your understanding is appreciated.
Report
Due to severe low waters levels we have had to close Weston for the time being, This decision was not take taken lightly but our stock remain the highest priority, So we apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time. The levels are still dropping due to this Indian summer we are having! Keith Cochrane was the last person in the boat house and manage to sneak a few out up to 31lbs.
Lake Closed From sat 1st Oct until further notice due to exceptionally low water level.
Any queries phone 01952463141
Report
Were still hoping for some rain to start filling the lake up, as a result of the low water anglers are catching large numbers of fish as there easy to find.
Matthew James caught despite the low low water conditions and by the thursday he had two 30's and 4 other fish
The open access bookings are now being taken for 2012, so for your chance of some amazing fishing within beautiful settings for up to 8 anglers call us on 01952 463141

Catch Report
Martin wood has been hauling again, this time a total of 22 over two sessions the best being 31-04 common. Tim Altherton has been catching on his latest visit he had 13 of which 10 were twenties in just 24hours.
The water levels still remain low so please take care of yourselfs and the fish, so far to date we've had 7 inches of rain which is a long way off the normal 27 inches!! Lets hope we get some soon, (just not whilst were fishing, or working)...
NEW FISHERY MANAGER
After over 7 1/2 years of loyal service, Sam Anslow has decided to move onto pastures new! I would like to thank Sam for the contribution he has made to RH fisheries over the years, and wish him all the best in the future.
I'am also delighted to announce the appointment of Alex lister who will be joining RH fisheries as "fisheries manager" on sept 3rd. Alex has studied fishery management, and is also a keen carp angler himself. Alex will be based at the monument, but will also help manage all our syndicate waters.
I have plans to make sure the monument produces even bigger fish in the future, and continues to improve the service provided to the anglers RH
23rd August
Another outstanding catch this time its was Martin wood who landed an unbelievable 27 fish in 48hrs from the bay swim. 3 crackers topped martins catch weighing 35-00, 34-14, 34-00.
Martin explained his tactics to us saying:
“I found that the early morning and the evening to be the best bite time, though I didn't get any sleep on the second night as I had takes fairly regularly. It was harder to tempt the fish through the middle part of the days so I tended to cast more to showing fish in the afternoons, as this produced some quick successes when half-way through the session, presenting either just a hookbait or a scattering of 10-15 free offerings each cast in the day. All fish were caught using SBS Fruit and Nut boilies, some on 16mm and others on 18mm baits.”
9th August 2011
The guys that had booked the boathouse last week had an incredible session landing 18 fish in total 3 of which were 30lb+ but not only that they are probably the 3 most sought after fish by the syndicate. The 30’s were 5star at 30-08, single scale at 34-12 and the slate grey common at 37-10. With the water level being a little low due to such a dry summer the usual simple tactic of bait heavy across to the far margin and pick the fish up as they move through was out of the question so instead the guys were up early around 4am each morning fish spotting and setting traps of stringers and 30 or 40 baits in areas that they saw the fish move. Their hard work certainly paid off for them well done and look forward to seeing you next year!
If you would like to book the boathouse for 2012 please contact us on 01952 463141.
CARP FOR SALE
RH fisheries will be selling approx 20 magnificent 6 year old fish this winter weighing between 16lb and 24lb with the majority being over 20lb. If you are interested call us on 01952-463141
25th July
Boathouse guest Glyn Cope fished well and caught fish upto 28-06 during his stay at Weston last week. He fished the African but instead of fishing across to the well-known spots he fished to a weed bed short of middle and off to his right as he fished where he saw fish moving. This certainly seemed to work as although the conditions were hard Glyn managed to bag several fish upto 28lb.
The syndicate have also be catching plenty as Steve Wrench has been down the last 2 weeks and landed several fish each session and had a 30 also each session. Which just shows how well the fish are progressing in Weston now.
Boathouse availability
We have a couple of weeks free towards the end of the year if you would like to book the boathouse for a week.
22nd - 29th of October
29th October - 5th November
To book please call us on 01952 463141
2012 Bookings
Bookings for the monument for 2012 will be taken from the 1st September from 8:30am
12th July
Another great week for both the boathouse guests and the syndicate anglers,
Firstly boathouse guests Mr and Mrs Tim Baker had a very chilled out week enjoying both the park and the local sights fishing only 3 nights but Tim still managed 2 x 30’s and a 27-00 amongst others.
Also 2 of the lakes biggest commons were landed when Paul Ainsworth landed the Gary Leek common at 36-08 and Robby Harrison had the Slate grey common at 36-00
We are now taking bookings for the boathouse in 2012 and open access for April / May 2012.
LOW WATER
Due to water level in shallow margin swims please make sure you are organised when you land a fish with plenty of water on the bank and please get the fish back ASAP!
Thigh waders are allowed ( NOT chest waders)
Bailiff
To help me manage the fishery and ensure the standards are maintained, I have appointed a fishery bailiff, Mr Ed Matthews.
Ed is very experienced in fishery management and im delighted to have his help.

28th June
As always Weston has been producing bit hits for all the syndicate with 6 –10 fish in a 36hr period common place. 2 anglers which did just that recently has been martin wood who had 7 fish upto 29-04 in a 24hr session and Tim Atherton who had 6 runs in just a 12 hr period. The best fish from Tim’s capture wasn’t the biggest but one of the prettiest he landed a stunning fully scaled weighing in at around 18lbs a definite one to keep an eye on in the future.
The book has opened for both the open access the boathouse bookings on Weston for 2012 so if you want to get catching a good few fish in stunning surroundings call us now to book for next year on 01952 463141.
15th June
Weston is probably our most popular water with regards syndicate applications and open access bookings, both because of the huge head of fish and the way the fish are progressing.
A new lake record common was landed by Gary Leek at 39-15 now that’s honesty for you and his wife Deb took a great photo!
Gary had 10 fish and over the week introduced 35kgs of SBS Fruit & Nut boilies. Oh and thank you for the bird table and congrats on a stunning new lake record. However there is another common called the slate grey so hopefully our first 40 will be landed this season.
This last week in the boathouse house was father and son George and Luke Gordon who landed 22 fish for the week with Luke landing the best fish at 31-12. He also landed 2 other 30’s 31-02 and 30-00 a great session and superb weights considering the fish have only just spawned! Father George although never had a 30 broke his own PB with a cracking fish weighing 28-00.
2nd June
The fishery is now closed due to spawning and wll reopen on Fri 10th June!
1st June
Business as usual at Weston, ronnie & olive entwistle came back for there second visit this year and thoroughly enjoyed themselves landing 13 fish topped by 3 x 29's it was garlic&blackcurrent boilies from cyprinid baits that did the job for ronnie, together with coconut cream pop ups.and last week the bannister brothers booked the lake, and had a megga week, landing 29 fish with the best being a cracking 36-08 common and two mirrors both weighing 31-00 lb. The lads used 45 kilos of SBS fruit & nut boilies and 30 kilos of pellets , and they even managed to catch a 25-00 lb mirror on floating crust.
17th May
Paul Meehan was last weeks open access guests and what a week he and his family and friends that fished had a fantastic week landing over 50 fish between them with 6 of those fish being 30’s the biggest being a 38-03 common landed by Angler Morgan Spence fishing the Bay swim.
They went through a large amount of bait as all anglers that catch large numbers of fish do on Weston using 45kg of SBS Fruit and Nut boilies tipped with the SBS Corn Poppers, 20kg of SBS Pellet, 25kg of hemp and 15kg of maize!!
Also Simon Crow and is father did a quick day session after Paul had left in an aim to up Simons fathers PB and they certainly did that within a couple of hours he had landed a 24 and by the end of the session had upped it again to 29 so congratulations Simons old man for catching some cracking fish.
3rd May
Last week for the open access Dave Warbourton booked the entire lake to himself and what a week he had. He landed 24 fish upto 32-11 and he only fished the days. He also had fish of 28-08 27-10 and many other 20’s. Dave’s tactics were to bait up several swims and keep active fishing different swims at certain times of the day and in his mind catching the fish as they moved about the lake on their daily routes, and it certainly seemed to work for him. Unfortunately as Dave was fishing on his own he only managed to get pictures of the fish on the mat.
Weston Cancelation
Due to a cancelation we have a free week7th - 14th May for a boathouse or full lake booking anyone interested please call us on 01952 463141
19th April
Weston is also fishing extremely well at the moment producing not only lots of fish but lots of 30’s also.
Andy Webster did a session the other week and landed 8 fish upto 37-08 from the bay swim a fantastic session, and sessions like this have been had by many of our syndicate members of late.
The best Story of a capture recently however is by boathouse guests Ronnie and Olive Entwistle. Ron who has been carp fishing for more years than I’ve been alive comes and fishes Weston once or twice a year to try and fulfil his dream of catching a 30. he has always done very well fishing some “old school” tactics but never managed to crack the 30 barrier coming very close but missing by ounces on a couple of occasions in the past. However this year he has managed to crack it landing 8 fish the best being a 30-04 mirror so congratulations Ronnie on the fish and well done on cracking the dream!
7th April
The 2 meadow swims have been totaly rebuilt and made much more spacious and luxurios now with a stone finish as this has worked very well on the avenue
5th April
Weston has been fishing great and the syndicate members have all been getting big hits with multiple captures James price was the first with a 6 fish haul from the logs he dropped in towards the start of the week while it was still cool after seeing that the weather was forecast to warm up and he believed the fish would head into shallower water to make the most of the warmth and he was correct. Following James in was syndicate members Stuart Glover who had 3 fish and John Wrench who had a 7 fish haul landed an 18, 5x 20’s upto 28-08 and a 30-03 common John told us that he took 4kg of boilies but ran out during his session as Weston fish are such boilie munchers Dave Dunbavin also landed a 35mirror from the rhodies swim.
Another notable capture was by boathouse guests Rob Hayes and family as his son Matt who has already had a 35 common last year when they visited us did it again this year landing a 31-08 mirror.
14th March
We have 2 weeks free due to cancelations for the open access on weston where groups of up to 8 anglers book the entire lake out for a week at a time. the weeks we have are 23rd - 30th April and 14th - 21st May if you wish to book either of these weeks please call us on 01952 463141

The Weston carp have started to wake up with 2 anglers catching 10 fish between them this weekend Mark Rotten landed 5 upto 25-00 on maple 8 and Matt Kelly landed 5 upto 27-12.
The Weston carp are very catchable and love the boilies, big catches are always on the cards.
We have one week available in the closed season for a group of 8 anglers due to a cancellation 14th –21st May if you are interested please call us on 01952 463141

Ice Update
we are hoping that the lakes will be fishable by monday 3rd if this weather stays warm for us
20th December
Every year RH Fisheries receives hundreds of new applications from anglers wanting to join our fisheries, so with everything very quiet at the moment we thought we would tell you a little about our waters, and how we operate our waiting lists. firstly we ask you to write to rob hales at the badger hall address, as detailed on the website(www.rhfisheries.com), rob then writes back to every applicant acknowledging there letter and informing them they are on the waiting list, and when we will be back in touch. The first places go to applicants who have been recommended by a existing member, we also allow our current members to move from one water to another within our group of fisheries, which surprisingly happens quite a lot, then the remaining places are offered to new applicants on the waiting list, we will update you whether successful or not, so you can plan your season, it is impossible for us to put a exact time on each waiting list as it is purely dependent on the amount of places that become available in any one year! However even if your second choice water becomes available it would almost guarantee you a place in preferred syndicate the following season.
Weston park
We receive more applications for Weston than any of our waters, probably because the lake is so beautiful and private, located in the private grounds of a stately home.
Size: Weston is 12acres with 13 swims 10 of which are open to the syndicate.
Stock: there are 204 fish present of which 180 are over 20lb with the best fish landed in 2010 weighing 37-14 which was a common, there are plenty of other 30's with most of the bigger ones being commons,35-08 being the best mirror in 2010. The average size of the fish is now about 25lb and steadily growing every year.
Rating: Weston is a easy water, as the fish love boilies, and they consistently out fish all other baits, they also love the floaters, but are a little more tricky to catch on the surface.Future: the fish are young and still growing well we carry out a drain down and de-stocking every couple of years to control the biomass of other fish and young carp. So Weston is set to keep improving.
Acton burnell
Currently our best water for the monsters! There are two stunning lakes at Acton which are only separated by a dam, the big lake is the lake featured in the wonderful new fishing DVD/programme "catching the impossible" with Martin bowler.
Size: there are two lakes the big lake, which is 17 acres, and the lower lake being 7 acres.
Stock: the big lake holds approx 120 fish of which there are 21 different 40's of which four are commons upto 48-12 being the best in 2010 and 49-04 the best mirror, the average weight being well over 30lb.The lower lake holds 23 original fish of which 5 have been caught over 40lb this year upto 48 lb with the big common recently landed at 51 lb, her best weight being 53-08 which is the lake record, the average weight being 36 lb, also there are a further 42 stockies weighing between 8 - 14 lb which have huge potential.
Rating: the big lake is difficult and is fished by lots of very good carp anglers, the lower lake is very difficult as these lovely old fish have seen it all, but they are stunning.
Future: there is an amazing head of big fish in the big lake, and the fishery is well balanced with these wonderful old fish still steadily growing, and in mint condition thanks to the handling of fish by the syndicate. A few 50's imminent! We now have 42 mega quality young fish in the lower lake to compliment the beautiful23 originals and to ensure there are quality young fish coming through which will also take the pressure of the old girls.
The Monument
Open to everyone on a 36 hr session ticket, not a syndicate! Probably the highest stocking density of 30's per acre in the uk! Also boasts four 40's and a lake record of 49-00lb. There are over 100 different 30's in the monument amongst a stock of 300 fish! The average weight last winter was 27 lb. However alot of quality anglers visit the monument and they have seen it all, ad to that the angling pressure and it is tricky water, but mega catches are always possible! Eg in a 36 hr session in 2010 sixteen different 30's were landed. To book on the monument call 01952-463141
The avenue
Our fishery with the greatest potential to produce a monster, located in the private grounds of robs home in Shropshire.Size: 10.2 acres in size with a average depth of six feet, with 17 swims.Stock: at present there 204 carp in the lake, but to ensure the continued growth of the best fish we will de-stock every year! In only it's second year we are Planning to remove 30 big doubles/ low 20's. The lake record is already 49-08 a fish that has gained 13-08 lb in less than two seasons! Also a fish known as "the little rhino" went from 23-00lb to 38-10lb in 23 months and has only been landed once. Most of the best fish are the big 30's coming through, and many still haven't been caught.Rating: moderate but starting to become harder as the fish wise up, and the head of fish reduces! Most fish only visited the bank once all season, and over thirty are yet to be landed.Future: very exciting with massive potential, with the management of the fishery purely focused on growing the biggest carp possible. The syndicate only use freezer boilies and pellets to ensure the carp get the best possible food. The avenue will produce huge fish in the future.
The Sitch
Our most recent water, that we took over in 2008 and another carp anglers dream! A naturally formed lake .Size: a large beautifully shaped 26 acre shallow fishery, with 21 well spaced swims.
Stock: created as a runs water with 420 fish present in the 10-24 lb bracket and a few bigger fish unto 35 lb which is a common. These fish are young and mega quality and growing fast.
Rating: the sitch is in it's infancy, but already showing signs that it will become a very special fishery over the next few years, we are already seeing lots of 20's coming through, and these fish are monument babies with great potential. we also plan to introduce some new 30's every winter, this year we have ear marked some cracking young mirrors in the 30 - 34 lb bracket. if you are after action with a chance of a 30 then the sitch is the water for you, and it won't be long before it produces some biggies.
10th December

5th December
Weston is a magical water and always looks stunning and with all the snow and ice around at the moment it almost looks like a scene from a Christmas card. Not only though is it just the views that are breath taking it is also the wildlife as we found out last week. When I went to check everything was ok at weston and check there were no frozen pipes as it was extremely cold going as low as –11 as I walked into the boathouse I was greeted by the faces of 2 tawny owls who had taken shelter from the cold themselves by sneaking in through the chimney!! After I opened all the doors fully so they could get out easily they flew off back out into the cold again.Weston has a few limited spaces left for booking the boathouse out but we are fully booked on it for the open access however we do have open access weeks left for the lower lake on acton to book for either of these or for more info please call us on 01952 463141
26th October
I was surprised this week to receive a night time capture photograph from Weston as its such a shallow water and the frost we have had I would have expected bite time to be mid afternoon when temperatures are at their highest but syndicate member Mark Shaw had a beautiful 26-04 mirror from the logs swim on the SBS Fruit and Nut with just a small stick for added attraction.
MaizeWe are cooking fresh maize every week at the monumet to feed into the fishery on wednesdays and sell to the anglers. So you can buy it fresh for £3 for 2kgs Anglers visiting Weston, Acton or the sitch can call to pre order
19th October
Weston as with all our waters has been fishing hard however Boathouse guest Clayton Townsend had a great start to his week landing a 30-02 mirror on his first day. However the temperatures plummeted then which turned the fishing much harder. Also amongst the fish this week is Syndicate Member Stuart Glover who was again fishing his favourite swim the logs and landed 2 cracking fish a 28-06 mirror and a 29-00 common both fish feel to a liberal scattering of SBS Fruit and Nut boilies with a small stick and double bait tactics.
5th October
There hasn’t been that many syndicate members on Weston the last week as, as temperatures drop a little so do a lot of the anglers. However the guys that have been on have done well Stuart Glover who has been catching consistently all season has done it again landed 3 fish up to 26 with still half his session to go.There has also been a rather funny moment this week after Andy from stoke had a 27 from the park view swim he went to the next swim to get his mate Dave Dunbavin to photograph it as they both has similar cameras he thought he would know how to use it. But after taking a few pictures and putting the fish back, they looked at the pics to find a black screen which is when they realised that Dave had forgot to take the lens cap off before starting to take the pics!! So a note to members check that u have a competent photographer taking the pictures if you have a fish of a lifetime!!
30th September
After a slow start to the week Andy Barker and his pal in the boathouse had a chat with one of the syndicate members who gave them a few hints and tips and told them to get on to the SBS Fruit and Nut as that is the going bait in there at the moment, and as soon as they did they started catching! They ended up with 17 fish. With the best being a stunning 36-04 common.
14th September
17th – 24th October we have a cancellation this week if you fancy a week next month at this stunning and prolific venue then please give us a call on 01952 463141
7th September
The fishery is busy now we are entering the Autumn period, Arguably the most beautiful on Weston as all the trees turn wonderful coloursThe best catch this week was Stuart Glover who fished a 2 day session in the woods swim and landed 5 fish as follows 21-00, 22-00, 26-00, 26-08 and 29-08 which was a stunning mirror known as 5star.Stuart Used SBS fruit and nut boilies, The top bait on Weston at the moment.
Cancelations for weeks on WestonDue to unpaid deposits we have a few weeks available for exclusive use of the boathouse and the boathouse swims.26th September - 3rd October3rd October - 10th October17th October - 24th OctoberTo book any of these weeks please call us on 01952 463141
10th August
The Boathouse guests this week the Porch family with son Stephen showing is old man how its done this time round. After a slow start to the week with only a low 20 and an upper double by Wednesday the weather look much more promising and the fish moved into their swim as The last 2 days Stephen landed a couple of cracking mirrors up to 28-09. Their tactics were to walk round to the far bank where they wee fishing each morning and bait liberally with around 4kg of boilie and pellet and then cast the baited area. Simple tactics that proved effective. Also this week Lake recorder holder John Wrench had the same lake record fish at the same weight amongst a 7 fish haul from the logs swim.
3rd August
The boathouse guest this week Colin Mockford and his pal they had 21 fish during the week up to 25-14 they fished several different tactics to catch all the fish from stalking, pre baiting but they found the most successful tactic was the simplest simply scatter a bed of boilies over your hookbait and wait. The guys caught the majority of the fish and all the bigger fish on SBS Fruit and Nut boilies.
20th July
A new lake record ! John Wrench from Stoke has just landed a stunning 37-14 common from the Bay swim along with another 5 fish up to upper 20’s. This is the fourth fish over 35lb since spawning which shows a huge improvement in the weights of the fish since the lake was de-stocked last winter! A Weston 40 this winter is now very likely!!My friends Ronnie and Olive Entwistle have just enjoyed a week in the boathouse and despite wet weather caught 9 nice fish, and have already re-booked for next April. If you want to book the boathouse for 2010 call us on 01952 463141Mega new French venue Only new because it has only been discovered by English anglers this year the lake is a stunning/ mature 25 acre lake located 40mins south of Limoges. The lake is called “Lac de ribierre” and is French owned by Michel BonneauRibierre holds approx 600 fish, which are growing extremely fast and the current 2010 lake record is 35.6khgs which is about 80-01lb.There are a number of other huge fish in the 60-70lb bracket with the bulk of the fish in the 30-45lb bracket. so whilst you have a realistic chance of a monster you can expect plenty of action. The lake is fished from one side only to prevent over casting which makes the fishing more pleasurable, The swims are gently sloping grass banks with mature trees. The far margin is a productive area and bait boats are allowed ( not rowing boats) the far margin distance ranges from 100yds to 130yds dependant on the swim. There are 11 swims I visited the lake in June and was 2 days into a very enjoyable session when a freak rain storm hit the region and we had to pull off( We had already caught 14 fish to 40lbs) I have rebooked for 2011 and I am taking several friends / journalists to promote ribierre so expect it to be well known by Christmas 2011.Dave and Phil who travelled with me have already rebooked for this September and next year. We will let you know how they get on.Ribierre offers both bivy fishing March -end May and Sept – mid Nov. All year round you can book a luxury Gite/cottage suitable for 4/6 persons. However carp anglers can only fish Ribierre in June, July and Aug if you book a Gite as this is Michel’s priority income. From 15th june to end august no lake exclusive bookings and for the rest of the year any whole lake bookings must include minimum of one gite as this is the complexs main business
Detailed below is how to book!
Contact Paul Armfield
Tel: 07836 751753
Email: bathagent@googlemail.com
Cost: 380 euro’s per angler per week!
Paul has amazing pics of the ribierre monsters, which he will gladly email you.I am helping promote Ribierre because it is a superb venue and my friend Paul Armfield is the exclusive UK booking agent for this fantastic fishery. You can only book Ribierre via Paul ArmfieldAlso as many of my syndicate members have already booked Ribierre I have secured a “one week” booking window for any RH Fisheries syndicate members prior to the book opening for 2012.
P.S. This venue has a realistic chance of producing a world record!!Regards RH
Lack Of syndicate members Photos
There has recently been a dissapointing lack of photos being sent in by memebrs so could you all please make an extra effort to send in any decent pics after a session on weston many thanks RH
13th July
The Boathouse Guests Paul Clamp and wife had an excellent week landing 12 fish 2 of which were 30lb+ a 31-00 and a 30-8 and the 20’s he had were upper 20’s up to 29-00. Paul simply walked around to the far margin once a day and spread 2kgs of boilie and 3kg of pellet then fished stringers o the baited area. The bait to be on in Weston is the SBS Fruit and Nut boilie as so much of it gets feed in by both the syndicate and the boathouse guests alike.NOTICE RULE CHANGEI have only just been made aware that anglers are using chest waders to place rigs and bait under the rhodies this will make the fishing to easy and put the fish under unessecary pressure. Therefore chest waders and thigh waders are banned at weston and they are not even allowed to be taken to the fishery with immediate effect!
RH
6th June
The new syndicate members have certainly cracked this water, especially new member Stewart who had 2 x 30’s a common and a mirror 6 x 20’s and a few doubles. Unfortunately though he only had photos on the mat of the fish.
29th June
The Boathouse guests peter present and friends did well considering the conditions landing 10 fish up to 28-04 during their week. But this week the attention falls to syndicate member Andy Webster. Who over the weekend landed 14 fish up to 33-08 from the shallows fishing simply boilie with plenty of freebies around the hookbait. Considering how heavily they have spawned in Weston there are still a lot of 30’s being landed so a new lake record could be possible within a few months!
21st June
As always on Weston the syndicate guys are bagging plenty of fish with pretty much all anglers getting big hits. Top rod on there this week though went to Matt Surmacz who landed 7 fish up to 29-14. Matt also had a 29-12, in his last 3 visits alone Matt has landed 23 fish up to 33-08! Also catching well was Tim Newman who landed 1 of the big commons at a great weight after spawning of 35-12.The bait that everyone is catching on at Weston is the SBS Fruit and Nut. Tactics are simple put a decent bed of bait in and balance your hookbaits.
15th June
The syndicate guys have been catching well this week with a few having so good hits, Geoffrey Radovic a new syndicate member did his first session and landed a couple of fish. James Price had the best fish of the week a 35-10 common from the park view swim. But the session that stands out the most this week of the syndicate guys was Luke Edwards who upon his arrival for his 2 day session baited heavily putting in 20kg of boilie and 10kg of pellet. He had 7 runs landed 5 the best fish being a 30-05. Luke told me he felt the fish only really moved in on his bait, as he had to pack up to go to work. Proof that the Weston fish are real boilie eating machines and the more bait you put in the more fish you catch. The boathouse group also did well landing around 15 fish the best a 30-02. I spoke to them as they were leaving and they had had a great week and were already discussing tactics for the next time when they rebook for 2011.Mega week available in the Boathouse at Weston
13th - 20th June
Last week the boathouse produced 26 runs 21 fish upto 29-12 for Gary Leek see wetson pic gallery. Please call us on 01952 463141 if you are interested in this week.
1st June
Our final open access week was the Dudley boys who seemed to catch more fish as the week went on. The lads visited SBS before their arriving and came armed with plenty of fruit and nut boilies, which I’m sure they would of used all of as by the end of the week the guys ended up with over 40 fish. The best being a 31-00 common landed by Jason knight.CancelationWe have a wek free due to a cancelation in the boathouse at weston from 13th - 20th June to book please call us on 01952 463141
25th May
It was the return of Gary Johnston and his pals from N Ireland. A great bunch of lads who had returned for the 3rd time. Despite the fish spawning for 3 days the lads caught plenty of fish to over 30lbs. It was the guys in the shallows who had the most action landing 13 fish.
18th May
The boys from Doncaster came back and got to grips with the lake this time landing over 30 fish upto 33-10.Weston is fishing superbly well and 50 fish over 20lb in a week with a few 30’s is the norm. The great thing about Weston is that they love boilies and plenty of them. Like most groups the lads have rebooked for 2011.The Irish lads have come back this week and we will let you know how they get on next week.
11th May
Paul Meehan and family had exclusively booked Weston last week and what a week they had landing over 60 fish 40 of which were over 20lb up to 28-08 and 2 x 30’s a 30-04 and a 31-09. With several fish also lost of which 2 are thought to have been 2 of the bigger commons in the lake. They fished SBS Fruit & Nut boilies and matching pellet and put in big beds of bait to catch the fish they told me that by the end of the week they had used 45kg of boilies and 30kgs of pellet!
4th May
Matt Stanbury an Ex- syndicate member booked the open access on Weston with just two of them having the lake to themselves. They had a fantastic week landing 36 fish upto 32-08 which was a common.Matt and his friend fished the right hand boathouse and the African tree swim and baited heavily with cell and PP60 boilies and caught as the fish moved through.
27th April
The group open access booking of Gary Webb and his pals from Essex had a great week with well over 20 fish upto 28-06, Weston fished better towards the end of the week when the nights warmed up. The lads used plenty of bait and caught from all around the lake.
20th April
What a week in the boathouse for Rich Russell from Derby, Rich and his friend Tim Nelson baited both the middle area from the boathouse, and the far margin. They landed 29 fish upto 33-08c and 31-04m. The guys baited up with boilies and fished small winter secret popups over the top.The mirror that Rich landed was a new 30 which shows that since all the small carp have been removed the big girls are benefiting already and with lots of upper 20’s last season it should mean lots of new 30’s this year. Also on Weston this week its our open access with a group of lads from Essex, 5 out of the 6 group have already caught so we will give you the full story next week.
13th April
Carl Amery had a mega catch at Weston this week landing 16 fish in a 36hr session, that included 2 x 30’s 10 x 20’s and a couple of doubles Carl also lost 2 fish. All the action came from the Rhodis swim. His fishing companion Gary Seed also caught 6 x 20’s and a 33-00. There were 5 x 30’s caught over the weekend and now our boathouse guest has already had fish upto 31-00The fish in Weston are packing on the weight, after all the small carp were removed.Boilies and more boilies is the order of the day at Weston they love ‘em!
6th April
The syndicate members are making the most of the last couple of weeks of their season and putting in even quick over nighters. Which on Weston is all you need if you are on the fish as Rob Leverton showed by landing 5 fish the weights of which were: 21-00, 24-08, 24-00, 20-08, 22-02 and 27-08. Unfortunately there were no other Syndicate members on the lake when Rob fished that session so we have no photo’s to show you.Rob landed all his fish on the SBS Fruit and Nut boilies.
30th March
The Hayes family enjoyed a great week in the boathouse landing a few nice fish upto 26-10 then 13yr old Matt had a take in the right hand boathouse and smashed his PB with a fantastic 35-08 common. Matt was using SBS M1 and Lobworm boilies together with matching pellets.I believe Matt has already applied for another week next year. The syndicate are regularly catching plenty of fish and Darren Davies was one of them amongst the fish landing 3 fish upto 26-10.
23rd March
Plenty of fish being caught at Weston with the fish really on the move!Andy Shaw landed 3 fish upto 25-00 and Rob Leverton landed 5 fish as follows 16-14, 18-08, 21-00, 28-10, 28-14. Rob Fished the rhodis swim and caught steadily throughout the session. Both anglers used SBS Fruit and Nut boilies and introduced plenty of freebies.
16th march
The Weston carp are now on the move with 4 fish being caught at the weekend and I predict this week will see a number of multiple catches.Rob Leverton had a 20-15 mirror from the woods swim on SBS Fruit & Nut boilie. The Willocks brothers Matt/ James landed a 19-00, 26-00 and a 28-00 from the logs and shallows on cell boilies. Introducing around a kilo of boilies into the area during their session. We have 1 week available during the open access period for a full lake booking, which is the 23rd – 30th of may a great week for fishing and with all the rhodi’s in flower the lake will look stunning. If you are interested please call us on 01952 463141
9th March
Normally our best winter water, but with the temperatures being so cold we had had ice most weeks since December. However Sunday Darren Davies managed to find some fish feeding in the woods swim and landed a lovely 20-10 common on a cell pop-up. Conditions were looking good until more ice Sunday night! Again we only need a few milder days and Weston will produce some superb catches.
25th January
Weston is refilled after the management that was caried out just before Christmas and has now also defrosted so is back open to the syndicate should you wish to get your rods back out!Rob says with such a huge head of fish you cant fail!! ( please send us any pics)
21st January
RH Fisheries gives you the chance to fish two of its most famous waters. During the months of April and May both Weston and Acton are open to all to fish in what we call our open access period. In which each lake can be exclusively booked for a week at a time. Both waters have their own draw be it the size of the fish or the amenities that are included, so I shall now go through each lake in detail:
- Weston:A twelve-acre lake with a stock of 205 fish over 180 of which are 20lb+ with plenty of 30’s. There is a good mix of both commons and mirrors I would say probably 50/50 and with the current lake record being a common of 36lb-14oz.During the open access we allow it to be booked exclusively from Sunday to Sunday with the maximum of eight anglers in your group. In this you not only get to fish from any of the swims between you. Also included is the exclusive use of the boathouse which is a listed building that has excellent facilities which include toilet, shower two single beds a kitchen with all cooking equipment and utensils and a BBQ area weather permitting.
- Acton: has two separate lakes which can be exclusively booked either individually or as one to get the entire complex between your group of friends. The top lake is the larger of the two at seventeen acres has a stock of around 150 fish. The lake record is 48-12 with three fish all being caught at this weight. There has been twenty-one different fish over 40lb so far this season including commons and mirrors to 48+. The lower lake is only six acres but has a much lower stock only around twenty six fish but the lake record on the lower lake is 55-02 common known as "Bill" and the average size of the fish is over 35lb.Each lake on Acton is booked exclusively on a Saturday to Saturday basis with a maximum of eight anglers on the top lake and a maximum of six anglers allowed to fish on the lower lake.During last years open access period there were sixteen 40lb+ fish landed which just goes to show that if you are looking to improve your PB a week during the open access on Acton is the place to do it! Facilities wise it is a little more basic with just a portaloo but these two lakes are for the more serious carper who is used to more drive and survive facilities we feel. And wants to experience fantastic surroundings. There is only very limited weeks available still as you can imagine on such fantastic lakes for exclusive use so should you wish to enquire further or book please contact us on 01952 463141 or visit our website www.rhfisheries.com
4th January
Again frozen solid, and still re filling from a fishery management program, Weston has undergone a major fishery improvement the small carp that had reached 4 – 8lb in weight were removed together with all the other unwanted species. The big fish were all returned in mint condition with 205 carp up to 36lb + with 185 fish over 20lb and plenty of 30’s. Probably 50% of the fish were commons and the average weight was at least 24lb+Because Weston is shallow and 12 acres in size 205 big fish is a lot of big fish for the water biomass therefore the 500+ of the smaller carp were definitely holding them back.So with those fish now removed the future looks god at Weston. If you want to catch a few fish in beautiful surroundings fishing for a big head of stunning carp in five star accommodation in the grade 2 listed building then give us a call on 01952 463141.Multiple catches at Weston happen every week in the warmer weather and if you like floater fishing the Weston carp love ‘em! We have the following 2 weeks available in May for groups of up to 8 anglers to book the lake exclusively including the boathouse: 9th – 16th May 23rd – 30th May
17th December
After a very succesfull drain down weston park carp fishery has now been transformed. All the small carp which were plauging everyone have now been removed there were over 2,500lb of them in weight and they averaged 5lb each.More importantly they were eating all the bait. All other unwanted species were removed to create a massive reduction in the biomass for the big carp to take advantage! The big suprise of the day was the amount of big carp present there were even more than i thought, with 205 big carp put back into weston. 184 of which were well over 20lb with an average weight of at least 24lb. There lots of 30's both commons and mirrors, but the biggest fish were commons upto 35lb+I would say the split between commons and mirrors was 50/5025of the best young fish weighing between 8 -15lb were returned for the future! (and they were very special)The lake is now refilling and should be fishable by early January if we get plenty of rain. This is exactly what weston needed to move forward and maximise the growth of the big fish. 2010 should be our best season ever!!RH
10th December
Please note weston is now closed as water level is low due to work being carried out. It should be open very soon we arer hoping by Christmas time. Many thanks RH1st DecemberThe first cold spell of the year has slowed things down at Weston the only fish out was a 27-00 deep bodied young mirror to Mark Rotton from the logs we have started to drain Weston down to remove all the young carp.
24th November
Syndicate member Alex Lister landed 7 fish up to 25-14. Alex introduced 10kgs of PP60 boilies during a 36hr session fishing the Rhodi’s swim. Weston is a great winter water and these sort of catches are always on the cards, as the Weston carp seem to love boilies.
10th November
A nice story this week involved John Paul Banbury who is a golf pro from Sutton Coldfield, he gained access to Weston as a guest of Robs purchased 5kg of SBS M1 from the monument and set up in the rhodi’s swim for 36hrs.John had 6 20’s upto a PB of 28-10, Which is excellent angling for November. Also syndicate member Alex Lister had a 22-04 from the park view swim.At the end of the month the fishery will be drained down for fishery management so the lake wont be fishable for several weeks.
3rd November
Boathouse guests the Marchingtons had a great week although it was senior rather than the son who did the damage, landing several 20’s upto 28-08.Syndicate member Mark Rotton landed a 20lbc and a stunning 30-04 mirror known as 5star Mark used PP60 boilies and introduced 4 kg of freebies. As I write there are plenty being caught with 1 angler landing 4 good 20’s in the last 24hrs from the rhodis swim.
27th October
There is always one water, which bucks the trend, and Weston is certainly doing that.Brother’s Cliff and Julian Parkin fished the boathouse and landed 7 20’s upto 29-00 and a couple of doubles. The chaps used the grange and cell boilies from mainline. Also syndicate member Dave Dunbavin had a hectic 24hr session landing 6 fish upto 28-00 and a stunning 30-08c. Dave got through 15 kgs of bait during his visit.
20th October
The boathouse guests Shaun and Carol Instone had a fantastic week on Weston. They were astounded by the surroundings and how tranquil and peaceful it was and how the good the fishing was of course. Shaun had several fish with the best being a common of 34-04 a great fish and a new PB for Shaun.NoticeThe carp are now on the bait big time as i writeShaun Jones is mid sesion and already had 12 fish upto 29-00 and is pileing in the baitso now is the time to get onto Weston.RH
6th October
The boathouse Guests Ron and Olive Entwistle struggled this week with only a handful of fish up to mid 20. This was the case for pretty much everyone fishing as most of the syndicate members could only tease out the odd fish all that is except for Dave Dunbavin who landed 6 fish between 22lb and 31-04. Dave’s tactics were to simply fish large 24mm baits and feed only with making freebies.
29th September
The boathouse guests Matt Stanbury and Phil Hughes landed 5 fish throughout their week on Weston up to 27-00. The syndicate guys have been on there a lot this week also with most catching a couple of fish but no one getting the big hits that Weston usually produces, which I again think is down to the weather with this high pressure.
22nd September
During a four-day session last week Dave Dunbavin had another superb catch landing 18 fish weighing between 21lb and 31lb. The 31lb mirror was a stunning fish known as 5 Fivestar! Dave used over 40kg of 24mm snail and shell baits from MB to catch all his fish in this impressive haul.
15TH september
Weston is fishing steady with multiple catches every week the anglers doing the best are using either double 18mm bottom baits or 24mm single hook baits to avoid the small carp we will remove the small carp this winter to ensure the big girls get all the food.Another thing to note is during this hot spell floater’s are well worth a go.Web updatingThe web will now not be updated again until 14th September as i am going away on my holidaysregards Sam
1st September
Billy Mckinven and friend booked the boathouse last week and had a lot of small fish and several 20’s during his session. Which he told me was a wonderful week off in magnificent surroundings. However the most notable catch this week was by Dave Dunbavin who fished the Bay swim and landed 7 fish between 21-08 and 29-08 and then on the morning as he was packing up he landed a 31-08. All fish were caught using 24mm snail and shell boilies on the hair with a 3-4 bait stringer fished over large beds of just boilie.Bookings for next year have begun now so we are taking bookings for both the open access exclusive lake bookings and bookings for just the boathouse now call us on 01952 463141 ASAP to book as dates are going incredibly fast.
25th August
Boathouse guests Ivan Darvill and family had a great week they said catching fish to mid-upper 20’s. Ivan’s tactics were simple but effective consisting of fishing double boilie as close as possible to the opposite bank and spreading a couple of kgs of boilie around his spots each day. I have not heard of many of the syndicate going down and fishing this could be due to the V festival and all the disturbance and traffic from that. However if u cant put up with the noise or even better you enjoy the music it has in the past been a very productive time to fish. IMPORTANT NOTICEAnglers arriving or leaving the lake between Fri 21st and Mon 24th please be aware of the much larger volumes of traffic due to the V festivsl!
18th August
Dave Dunbavin had an excellent session he fished the bay swim last weekend and landed 9 x 20’s between 22-08 and 27-00 and 2 x 30’s a 30-04 mirror and a 36-04 common. Dave fished to clear patches in the weed using snail and shell 24mm boilies and baiting up with 10kg of boilies over the session. So although the small fish are still present if you fish the right spots with large enough baits you can still get good hits on Weston. We have only limited spaces left now for the open access on Weston next year so to book one of the remaining spaces please call us on 01952 463141. Or if you are wanting to make a booking for the boathouse only bookings for that commence September 1st.Open AccessAs with acton Weston operates an open access period where you can book the entire lake for upto 8 anglers for a week at a time. And like Acton there are only a limited number of weeks left as open access bookings are being taken right now!
11TH aUGUST
When I walked round Weston the other day both the syndicate members and the boathouse guests had all had a couple of 20’s each the best being a 28lb common caught by Gary Seed. So although non of the big girls have been landed this week the fish are well spread out and anglers are catching from all over the lake.
4th August
The boathouse guests last week were great guys Mr and Mrs Mair and Baish, experienced carpers from UK and abroad. However they we plagued by the small carp. Towards the end of the week they did manage a few 20’s. Also an interesting point one of the chaps said that when he came of the "known" spots he picked up better fish. This week we are holding a match to remove as many small carp as possible so there should be a lot less of them by next week.
28th July
The small fry are still causing a few problems in there so I would strongly advise the use of at least 20mm boilies. However for the guys that can get through them the rewards are there to be had. Rob Leverton who Had only turned up a few hours before a walked round the other day and he had already had 3 fish 23, 25 and a 29.
7th July
Weston is a great water for floater fishing and that is certainly true the last week as there have been at least 9 fish including 2 x 30’s of to floaters in the last week. Rob Leverton had a 33-14 and Matt Surmacz had a 33-00.CLOSED FOR A DAYSyndicate members please note weston is closed on Sunday 9th August de to removal of the small carp.Could all members please be off the water no later than 8pm on the Saturday of the 8th
30th june
Weston continues to fish well producing lots of fish every week I have just walked around the lake and 2 syndicate members have landed 21 fish upto 27-00 since yesterday afternoon. It would appear despite the winter drain down there are still quite a few 4 – 11lb young fish present so during August we will be holding a match with a crack match team to see how many of the young carp we can remove on rod and line. If successful we will repeat the exercise rather than drain down the fishery again. We have a cancellation for the boathouse for 1 week 2nd – 9th August for 2 anglers and 2 non-fishing guests. If interested call us on 01952 463141.
23rd June
The big fish are still coming out to the syndicate as Rob Leverton showed landing a 34-12 on his last session. Rob who fished the bay swim fished SBS M1 hook bait over a large bed of boilies. This is a very proven tactic on Weston as feeding with pellet attracts the smaller fish.
16th June
The water has fished brilliantly over the past few weeks for the boathouse guests and syndicate members alike, Gary Leek booked the boathouse a week ago and had 31 fish in total up to 29. Last week Luke a George Gordon were in the boathouse and they had only 10 fish but they had a couple of 30’s up to 35-12 and a lot of upper 20’s. But the best hit since the lake reopened to the syndicate was by Shaun Jones of Alan’s Tackle. Who in a day only session landed 18 fish up to 30-08 with 10 over 20lb all off the top. Booking for 2010Due to anglers requesting to be able to make plans for their fishing holidays for 2010 we will take bookings for the Open Access on both Acton lakes and Weston from now onwards. However for any Monument bookings or for just the boathouse bookings they will be from September 1st as usual.
19th May
The guys that were on Weston last week had a fantastic week altogether they landed 32 fish of which 3 were 30’s upto 35-02. Also 4 out of the group of 6 that booked the whole lake exclusively had new PB’s. Andy Baker had the best hit out of all the guys fishing the rhodis swim Andy landed 17 fish including the biggest of the week the 35-02.
11th May
Mr Whittick and his party enjoyed their week having booked the whole lake exclusively! The anglers the bay swim and the Rhodi’s did the best catching 3 x 30’s with a 32-00 the best. As usual boilies and pellets catching the fish, the guys left some nice comments in the visitors book. So they enjoyed themselves which is the main thing. Pictures will be on the site when we receive them! Also due to a cancellation we have a free week for the boathouse from 28th June – 5th July if you would like to snap this week up please call us on 01952 463141. 4th May
A quiet week by Weston standards, the boathouse guest, Mr William Taylor, only had several fish to 20lb. However there were only two anglers fishing so it becomes easy for the fish to avoid you.
20TH aPRIL
Since the removal of all the small carp the weight gains are very noticeable already! This week alone we have had 4 new 30lb mirrors landed up to 32-08 which was caught by Martin Ralph. Boathouse guests Martin Emery and friend had plenty of 20’s upto 30-08 and very much enjoyed their stay and are now applying to join the syndicate, even though they live in Somerset.Boilies as usual at Weston catching the fish and lots of them!
13th April
Its gone mad! Syndicate member Gary Seed landed 23 fish in a 48hr session in the shallows, 21 over 20lb best fish a new 30 at 30-08.Also 3 other syndicate members this weekend landed 26 fish between them with lots of upper 20's upto 29-00.Last week Steve Gant had 4different 27's in a day from the logs. Boilies and lots of them producing all the fish.If you want action weston is the water. The boathouse guests caught well this week with fish up to 24-10. John Hancock and his son baited several spots with large amounts of boilies and particle. John told us he used 40kg of boilies and 50kg of particle over the week fished balanced popups on the hook. However I have heard that one of the syndicate did even better they landed a 32-00 during a weekend session.BaitSome of the weston regulars are now starting a baiting campaign with pro-fish red boilies so if you are a future boathouse guest we recommend pro-fish red boilies.Weston has switched on with good fish coming out everyday.NEW WATER "THE SYTCH"The White Sytch. RH Fisheries has formed a partnership with Ed Matthews, and acquired the control of a spectacular naturally formed 26-acre lake located very near to our Weston Park fishery. The lake has never previously been fished and is known to have produced carp to 18-00 back in the 1830’sAfter carrying out test netting’s to see what the lake holds, we will be stocking 1000 young monument carp weighing6 –10lb together with 50 young 20lb+ fish there is lots of work to be done throughout 2009 to get the lake fishable for 2010.Should you wish to apply to join the syndicate please send a letter to Ed Matthews 4 Bridgeman Court, Weston under lizard, Staffs, TF11 8QH.You will then receive a reply and be invited to see the lake this autumn, or call 01952 463141 to find out more.I assure you, you will be impressed!CancelationWe have a a cancelation for the boathouse on weston park for the following dates:8th - 15th MarchWe are also offering 5th - 12th April and the 12th to the 19th April for just the boathouse booking, to book please call us on 01952 463141

24th November
The Boathouse is now empty until the spring so nothing to report there but as always Weston keeps producing quality fish whatever the weather.Carl Amery and Gary Seed fished a week session in the Oak and Park view swims they put plenty of bait out in the main body of the lake Carl had several small fish of 10-12lbs and a 24-00 and a 28-00. Gary caught a 21-00 and a 24-06 all their fish were landed on boilies. The young fish are growing incredibly well but are also a pain however when they are removed, the big fish will benefit enormously and increase in weight.
28th October
Tony and Jacqueline Cross took their son Alex as a birthday treat to Weston last week, in the hope of Alex landing a personal best.He was delighted to land a 25-08, which beat his previous pb by 9lb.We are planning to drain down the lake over the winter to remove all the young carp to ensure the big fish continue to grow.
21st October
Martin Woodall and friend had fish upto 28-00 from the boathouse swims on Weston. However when I spoke to them mid week, they said they felt they could have caught a lot more fish and possibly bigger also if they had moved swims. But they saw it as much as a holiday as a fishing trip so decided to stay close to the boathouse to make the most of all the facilities the boathouse provides. There are only a few weeks left in 2009, so should you wish to book the boathouse give us a call ASAP.
14th October
John Dashfield fished the boathouse last week and his tactics were spot on! He landed a few doubles and eight 20’s upto 27-12. John kept on the move and caught from 4 different swims. His tactics were boilies and pellets in conjunction with a type of chod rig that was fished with a pop-up on a 4inch piece of semi stiff mono.If you like boilie fishing Weston is the place, as they are bait eating machines and multiple catches are taken every week. There are only a few weeks left in 2009, so should you wish to book the boathouse give us a call ASAP.
7th October
Boathouse Barry Horsnell and friends had a difficult week with a 21-00 being the best fish, although they lost a big fish which kited around the aerator outside the boathouse. However this weeks guest John Dash filed is already amongst the fish so well let you know how he ended up next week. Also the fishery has been producing lots of multiple catches to the syndicate, with Ian Newstead landing 10 x 20’s upto 27-12 and a couple of doubles in a single 9am – 6pm day session from the shallows. Ian is catching all his fish on a top quality bait from Pyramid baits, which he has been introducing every week whilst walking the lake fish spotting, and it is certainly proving successful. He spotted the fish mid week and baited heavily hoping the swim would be free when he returned. What a days fishing!!
30th September
The syndicate members keep catching very consistently with Carl Amery amongst others landing 8 x 20’s upto 25-08 last week in a short session. However boathouse guest Fergus had a difficult week in the boathouse as the fish simply didn’t appear to be there which can be the case whilst the boathouse swims are great swims there’s no guarantee the fish will be in the area.
23rd September
Neil Searby and his wife struggled at Weston, landing only 1 big fish which he caught float fishing. The boathouse swims produce 99% of their fish by casting over to opposite bank which is a no fishing bank, therefore the fish use that margin as a motorway to get from the main lake t the shallows and if you fish short you don’t get the takes. Also Neil’s week was spoilt when we experienced our first ever tackle theft at Weston. However I qualify this by saying Neil left all his rods and reels etc outside whilst asleep in the boathouse all night. This wouldn’t normally ever be a problem but it was the gamefair weekend and the park was open to the public. So it just shows even in a stately home you have to be aware.
16th September
Boathouse guest Matt Stanbury and his brother had a superb week landing 17 fish over 20lb upto 27-00. Matt used squid and nectar boilies and cell boilies and 60kgs of particle, plus 20kgs of pellet. The fishing picked up from the Tuesday and had a spell between 4:30 and 11;30 he landed 5 x 20’s.Matt was a syndicate member that couldn’t resist coming back!
9th September
Martins Evans and his wife were in the boathouse this week and caught only a couple of fish upto 27-10. However this is a good results considering the conditions Martin hard to put up with as the torrential rain results in flood conditions. These conditions dropped the water temperature over the week by a massive 4 degrees he tells me which slowed and I would imagine all but stopped the fish activity for this week. However I am sure that they will become used to this drop over the coming week and I’m sure we will have news of much better catches in next weeks report.
26th August
During the period that I have been away there have been a lot of quality fish off from Weston upto 36-00 caught by Rick Hurst who also landed several good 20’s and a 31-12 and a 32-00. Rick fished purely boilies feeding in around 30kgs over the week doing this meant the first few days were quite quiet for him but things just got better and better for him as the week went on. As on the Friday afternoon alone he had an upper 20, 30 and lost another big fish. So with results like that his tactic proved to be very effective!LATE AVAILABILITY FOR WESTON PARK BOATHOUSEDue to a recent cancelation the Weston Park Boathouse, plus 3 swims, is available from Sunday 7th of September to Sunday 14th of September. The anglers that fished last week (12th - 18th August) caught lots of fish up to 36lb! For more information, or to book please call 01952 463141 (closed wednesday).
7th August
Boathouse angler Russel Hill fishing with his friend landed 4 20’s and a couple of doubles they started off well catching a few fish quickly but then struggling somewhat. When I spoke to Russel about his session he believed it was due to him not taking enough bait he used 30kg of pellet 15kg of boilies and 10kg of particle but wished he had brought double that.Anglers visiting Weston need lots of bait, boilies especially to hold the fish, 40kgs between 2 anglers is about the norm.Plenty of good fish were landed during the week by syndicate members with Darren Davies landed a 30lb mirror off the top the biggest.Dave Treasure also did a couple of nights in the shallows and logs and landed 12 good fish upto 25-08 10 were over 20lb. Dave just used and baited up with boilies using 6kgs in 2 nights.Dave said you need at least 3kgper night to hold the fish.
