Weston open Access

We still have one more slot for the open access in April. So if you and some friends (upto 8 but
can be less) fancy a week fishing without all the expensive of travelling abroad and not to mention
the supreme fishing with fish upto 39-15 and fishing the lake at a prime time of the year phone

Syndicates

The syndicate list are reviewed next month, with 5 different fisheries, there is a realistic chance
of joining one of them, if you wish to apply we require you to write a letter to Rob Hales at Badger
Hall, Badger, Burnhill Green, Nr Wolverhampton, WV6 7JR

Maggots 23/1

From Monday 30th Jan until 29th Feb only, we are going to allow the use of maggots on the Avenue, strickly for the above period only. The reason are to A) try and get the eight fish I want removed before the spring, and B) to give you a edge in what is a difficult period.

I Have today been out on the lake, and watched the fish, and they are very active, and I believe maggots will catch them

"Good Luck" RH

Check This Out 17/1

Search on You Tube “24hr rod race Matt Hayes” it the 19th June clip by Jonathan Chappell and give an introduction on Matt Hayes brace of 37’s at The Sitch, it will be out on TV soon

The Sitch is a naturally formed breath taking 26 acre estate lake, surrounded by mature dense woodland that boasts a spectacular variety of trees, and is home to a diverse range of wildlife.

The fishery has 20 purpose built pegs, some are situated in the woodland and others on purpose built platforms set out on the lakeside amongst the reed and sedges.

The lake is stocked with 450 young monument strain carp. These fish range from 12lb – 30lb and are growing at a healthy rate, with the number of 20’s increasing each month! There are also a number of 30lb fish with the lake record currently standing at 38lb +. On top of the current stock we also adopt an on going year on year stocking policy with a view to improving on the high end fish we have exceeding 30lb.

The future looks promising for the Sitch as the fish continue to grow. With 450 fish multiple catches are a common place, these fish really respond to heavy baiting tactics and with depth’s not exceeding 4ft you are never too far away from your target.

Syndicate

The Sitch is run as a syndicate from June to March and is a great way to start your fishing carrier on an R H Fisheries syndicate water. Joining the Sitch couldn’t be simpler, just pick up the phone and contact Ed on 07779257812

Open Access

Through the months of April and May we operate an open access policy, we sell the lake exclusively from Sat- Sat for groups of upto 12 anglers. With 26 acres of water to target and 20 well spaced swims, there loads of room (we will consider groups of 6 for half the fishery)

Call Alex on 01952-463141 for more details.

Open Access 15/1

We have had a last minute cancellation on Weston Park for the open access on the 21-28th April. If you fancy a go on this spectacular looking 12 acre estate lake in the private grounds of Weston park then phone us on 01952 463141.

Open access is for group bookings of upto 8 anglers, and the lake has 13 well-spaced swims. The biggest plus about Weston is the spectacular grade 2 listed sand stone boathouse that's is included with full lake open access bookings.
Visit the Weston site to see pictures of the boathouse
The lake holds 204 stunning carp with a new lake record common weighing 39-15, there is a big head of 30's in Weston and a average weight of 25+, they are boilie eaters, and very catchable, as they love the boilies which produce all year round.

Avenue Update 7/1

Today 7th January si Nicholls has landed the first Avenue carp
of the year, one of the young commons weighing 15lb. The fish
are very active after the big winds, and are showing all the
time, so I'am hopefull a few more with be out soon. A Pop-up
did the trick. I have always believed the commons are more
catchable in the winter, and with three monster commons in the
Avenue, let's hope someone gets lucky.

Avenue Update 13/12

Well no surprises from todays fishery management, as we didn't net one single carp. The weed was still to dense, as a result the net rolled on every sweep. Therefore the carp we want to remove will have to be caught on rod and line in the spring, and I will treat the weed again to prevent the same problem.

A big thankyou to all the members who helped, it was much appreciated.

Lower Lake Open Access 6/12

We have decided on some of the dates on the open access (Acton Burnell, lower lake only) to allow anglers to book in pairs or by themselves, rather then to book a group of upto six. The two dates so far are as follows 14th- 21st April and 12th-19th May and the cost will be £300 each, to confirm the pegs a deposit will be required of £50. There will be a maximum of 6 six anglers on at once, but could be less depending on bookings and as the lake is around 7 acres there is plenty of room to fish.

The lower lake is a beautiful lake, overlooked by a stunning small castle (folly), the lake is home to the biggest fish on the complex, a 51-00 lb common called "bill " last caught in may at 51-00 by Simon crow. The lake also holds 20 other originals that are all over 30 lb and five of them are over 40lb, there are also 42 young fish which are now mid doubles. The lake has 9 excellent swims which are well spaced out.

To find out more and check availability call us on 01952-463141 or email info@rhfisheries.com

Weston boathouse 6/12

The Boathouse has again proven very popular this year with very few places left, however in March we have a winner from carp-talk fishing on the 9th-11th, which means we have 2 short weeks either side of the weekend. If you fancy fishing either one of these dates at a reduce rate, on the 3rd- 9th march or the 12th – 17th March then please phone us on 01952 463141.

Netting

Unfortunately the Avenue will be closed from 8am on the 13th December due to us netting, if any of the members wish to come along and help, your more then welcome, just bring some gloves!! Any further info please phone us on 01952 463141.

Catch Report

The Avenue is still fishing very hard, however a change in the fishery rules, could see the fish become more catchable. I have been concerned about feeding the carp just boilies throughout the winter, as too much of one food source is not ideal, what ever the food.

Therefore we are now allowing, particles, tigers, maize and sweet corn, which will both give the fish a more balanced diet, and hopefully make them more catchable. There are many big fish in the avenue that haven’t been landed once this season, so it will be exciting to see how heavy they are when they make an appearance.

Update

Hello chaps

I have been thinking long and hard about the baiting situation on the AVENUE, and I have been concerned about feeding them just boilies. Last week I had a meeting with a leading fish nutristionist who works for coppens fish feeds in holland, and he confirmed my thoughts that feeding carp one type of food, whatever the food, is not ideal, as it doesn't give them a balanced diet. Also boilies are a vital part of there growth, and the carp in the avenue are becoming increasingly suspicious of them, as that is all they see, especially as i have stopped feeding maize and pellet . Therefore with immediate effect I'am allowing the use of all baits on the AVENUE with the only exceptions being maggots, peanuts and high oil pellets like halibut pellets. So all seeds, maize, hemp, tigers, corn etc are now permitted.
However I ask all anglers to ensure that there Spod mix consists of at least 20% boilies either chopped or whole. Alternatively put boilies out by stick over the spodded bait. I do not want anglers fishing just tigers. I also appreciate many of you will fish just boilies, which is fine, as I believe they will become more effective when the fish see all baits all the time, and not just boilies.
Also iam sure that catches will improve, in the short term.

New fish : I will be introducing a couple of new big fish before Christmas, from the same source as "tango" I have also got 40 megga 2 year old babies  around 4 lb from he monument, and I might introduce ten for the future.

Important  : please try and contact me if you catch a fish under 24lb, as I want to remove a further ten fish this winter.

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Kind regards
RH

Report

To say the Avenue is fishing hard is a understatement, only one fish was landed last week, which was caught by Andy Eccles from the feeder swim, weighing 28-03, a lovely common over 5lb up on it's summer weight. In fact the avenue carp are the best-conditioned carp I have ever seen, when they do make an appearance. Quite why it is so difficult is a mystery, there are two lines of thought, the first being that the carp are enjoying a larder of natural food in the weed, and the second being that they are eating all the bait and getting away with it. I actually think a little bit of both is probably the answer, as I have witnessed both anglers baited areas being wiped out the morning after they have pulled of, and I have seen fish feeding on top of the weed, as the lake is crystal clear at the moment. We have supplemented the carps diet with maize and pellet throughout the year, to give them a balanced diet, however we have now both removed the feeder and stopped feeding the additional food, so it is the boilies v the naturals from now until march, and it will be interesting to see what happens. I think when the temperatures drop, and the naturals will die off the boilies will be far more successful "we will see". One thing is for sure the carp in the Avenue are piling on the weight, and I am expecting a few new 40's next spring and hopefully a few more close to 50! How can 142 fish in 10 acres be so tricky to catch, with some of the counties best carpers angling for them, the mysteries of carping is what makes it a challenge and so special.

Dear members

Because the avenue is fishing very hard at the moment, I'am prepared to stop baiting up with pellets and maize from now until march, and see if we can get the fish more onto the boilies. I will only bait up occasionally with boilies if the lake is quiet. I'am convinced the carp are enjoying a larder of natural food at the moment which is thriving in the weed, but when it dies down, the carp should become dependent on the boilies. It will be interesting to see, as over the winter some of the winter anglers come onto the avenue and bait heavily with boilies. I will also be having ago over the winter. The fish are already in megga condition for October, and the plus of not being caught means they will have piled the weight on.Don't forget we also need to remove another dozen fish under 24lb that are males, so if you catch one please hold it in the net and contact me.
Cheers
RH

Report

The fishery is looking stunning at the moment, and the water quality is superb, however the fish are playing hardball, however when they do get caught they are in stunning condition, as Dave chancellor proved with a 27-00 and "tango" at 39-00! Dave fished the redwood on the house spot, and baited up with 5 kilo's of a new mainline bait. Also amongst the fish was Rob Humphries with a brace of mid twenties from the bay swim. The fishery holds a lot more weed than last year, so it is essential to find the clear spots, the anglers catching the fish are fishing these spots. I have been out in the boat after anglers have packed up, knowing where they baited, and always the bait has gone, and we don't have any nuisance fish in the avenue, so the carp are cleaning up the bait, and getting away with it "big time". It just shows how wise and cute they are. I think next next month we will some very big fish caught, hopefully my prediction will come good.

Report

The avenue is fishing very hard at the mo, but some of he guys who are putting in plenty of boilies and sitting on them, are catching. Ian Knowles did just that, over a bed of SBS phase boilies from the rock swim, when he landed three stunners weighing 32-08, 33-06 and 22-00. I missed a text from Steve Hall this morning, asking me to photograph a 31-06 he landed this morning, as he was the only angler on he fishery, and we don't allow self-take photography. The amount of 30's in the avenue now is amazing, we have gone from 9 to over 40 in two seasons, with a few that will be close to 50 this winter.

Should you wish to apply to join the avenue syndicate, then write to RH fisheries at the badger hall address which is detailed on our website www.rhfisheries.com

Catch Report

Its not easy at all on The Avenue as the water is crystal clear and the carp can see everything on the bottom, and in particular the lines. However they have to feed and while they do some of the best carp anglers I have met are pitting there witts against them.

Shaun-Jona Jones once again had a couple of days break from his busy tackle shop Allan’s Tackle, and came for a chill, so he said, he was soon moving all his kit and setting up in a different swim on the second morning and spombing out 4 kilo’s of cell and waited for the fish to move in, after a chunky 23-00 he landed a stunning brace of 30’s weighing 32-08 and 37-08. Also amongst the fish was Steve Hall who landed three fish from the ‘Redwood’ swim also on cell weighing 23-00, 25-00 and 32-08.

With the de-stocking policy in place the fishing will only get harder, but the fish are growing very fast and are in immaculate condition.

I was just talking to John Shoes Jones on the lake who in conjunction with a little field testing from ourselves has developed a superb carp cradle which we will be installing in our swims at the monument, together with a now very clever and very safe weigh sling he has just shown me, that doesn’t have zips! All fishery owners hate slings with zips, as they snap the tails.

NEW FISHERY MANAGER

After over 7 1/2 years of loyal service, Sam Anslow has decided to move onto pastures new! I would like to thank Sam for the contribution he has made to RH fisheries over the years, and wish him all the best in the future.
I'am also delighted  to announce the appointment of Alex lister who will be joining RH fisheries as "fisheries manager" on sept 3rd. Alex has studied fishery management, and is also a keen carp angler himself. Alex will be based at the monument, but will also help manage all our syndicate waters.
I have plans to make sure the monument produces even bigger fish in the future, and continues to improve the service provided to the anglers RH

23rd August

The Avenue is fishing well at the moment , despite the water being crystal clear? At this time of year the flouro carbon is a major edge, both a a main line and as a hook link. When I'am out on the boat the bottom is very clearly visible even a 7th, but you cannot see the flouro carbon lying on the bottom.
Once again there were some stunning fish landed, and it was Dave chancellor again who had the best catch, on the back of a stunning 38-08 last week, Dave landed a brace of absolutely gorgeous young fish, "the little rhino" at 39-04 a cracking big male fish which is growing exceptionally well and "Ellie" at 41-04 which is a lovely female putting her weight back on after spawning out. Dave is making his own bait from mainline ingredients and his efforts are certainly paying off. Also amongst a few nice fish, was Ian Smith, who fished only a few feet out in the margin to land a few fish including a cracker called "tango" at 37-08.The avenue is producing 30's every week, and with the de-stocking programme continuing, the fish have got plenty of room to keep growing, it just means the fishing will get harder, but the lake records with keep moving up.

9th August

Amongst plenty of fish caught recently two really special fish have been landed, Shaun "Jona" Jones arrived in treasures swim last week and landed a 30-10 mirror of the top within the first ten minutes of fishing. Then Jona decided to spomb four kilos of cell during the evening in the hope some of the big girls might move on to the bait, his tactics were spot on, as mid afternoon the following day I received a text to say Jona had landed a stunning 43-06 common a fish called "Lucy" this is a spectacular fish, and one we have high hopes for. What made the catch even more special was the fact that it was jona's birthday; capped of with a 25lb mirror in the afternoon it was a happy birthday for Jona. Then it was the turn of Dave chancellor who again put out a large bed of his home made boilies, and after landing a 26lb mirror went onto land a stunning mirror at 38-08 called tango, capped of with a 26lb common it was another great session for Dave. When you consider the Avenue held Nine different 30's the first year, which increased to 19 thirties last season, and already this season we have had 31 different 30's three different 40's and a lake record 51-06 mirror. We will continue to de stock to ensure the best fish for fill there potential. Should you wish to apply to join the Avenue syndicate, call 01952-463141 to find out more.

CARP FOR SALE

RH fisheries will be selling approx 20 magnificent 6 year old fish this winter weighing between 16lb and 24lb with the majority being over 20lb. If you are interested call us on 01952-463141

25th July

The avenue is very moody at the moment and seems to be fishing well one minute and slow the next.
But nearly every week there are some cracking fish landed. Haydn Jones had a 4 fish catch from the gap swim which included a stunning 37-03 mirror known as Big Mac Haydn was using bandit baits Italian boilies.
During the same 24hr period a further 15 fish were landed with Nathan Roper and Dave Chancellor among the 30’s both of which were Crackers. Dave being one of my favourite fish at 33-08 the Big Rhino. The avenue is a boilie only water and at the moment there is no one bait standing out but the top four are:
SBS Phaze 1
Mainline Cell
Bandit baits Italian
Mainline Grange
Again with several high 30’s in July we are expecting a few new 40’s this winter especially as we continue to adopt a destocking policy in the avenue of any fish we feel are not growing well enough.

2012 Bookings

Bookings for the monument for 2012 will be taken from the 1st September from 8:30am

12th July

The avenue carp finally seem to have got the spawning over with, the one the syndicate were hoping to see prior to spawning was Jona however when she was finally caught for the first time this season she was at a spawned out weight of 45-04 landed from the rock swim by new member Darren Buckley Mellor

When Jona spawned out last year she was only just 40lb so she appears to have gained a genuine 5lb in weight

Also amongst the fish was Luke Roper fishing the point swim when he landed a cracking brace of 30’s weighing 34-02 and 33-04. Using a new bait from the John Cooper stable.

Spawning

28th June, well despite the hot weather during sunday & Monday, the carp did not spawn again, whilst a few were clearly showing signs, the majority were on the feed. So I will only now close the AVENUE if they are really going at it! I personally think it is now unlikely but I will post a update here if anything changes.

28th June

Despite the hot weather the avenue continues to fish well we had hoped they would spawn during the recent hot weekend but only a few fish seemed interested with the majority still on the feed.

Ritchie Lampitt managed to get a fish weeded up at close range so I gladly swam out to release the fish from the weed it is surprising how at the rod end the fish feel locked solid and yet when you swim out it is only the slightest pressure that is needed to release the fish in the weed.

Saun Jones from Allan’s tackle had an 8 fish catch which is the best of the season so far which included some stunning big 20’s a new 30 common and one of my favourite fish the little rhino at 39-12 all over big beds of cell in the feeder swim.

Rich Handley had a rare night capture of my favourite avenue common Lucy at 42-12 a spectacular fish.

Even Rob Hales himself got in on some of the action dusting off his floater gear to land a 29-04 and a 31-04 off the top.

22nd June

Looking at the long range forecast its possible the fish may spawn again next weekend 26th June so check the website before traveling!

16th June

The avenue continues to amaze me. Infact I think the fishery is a bit of a phenomenon, the water quality seems to be exceptional all the time i am not really sure why it is possible due to the spring water that is filtered through the sandstone rock either way the weight gains we are experiencing are exceptional and beyond any we have achieved in the past.
Since we opened inmay we have had 12 new 30's giving us a factual count of 31 x 30's but in reality there are probably a lot more than that and when you think we started with 9 2 years ago that is amazing.
Shaun "Jona" Jones has just had an 8 fish catch from the feeder which included some big 20's a new 30lb common and the Little rhino at 39-10.
Dave Chancellor is mid session and already had 4 including a 27-08 common i caught last year at 23-00 and "desy" at 36-10
The fish havent all spwaned properly and we did loose a 33-00 mirror spawn bound. So i hope it warms up and they spawn again.
Oh i nearly forgot i had a very enjoyable day on the floaters tuesday and managed a 29-04 and a 31-04 off the top.

15th June

We reopened on Friday after a close down for spawning however we will have to close again as only about half the fish seem to have spawned since we have restarted I have seen fish totally empty and others still full so im hoping for another hot spell.
There are plenty of fish being caught Dave Chancellor dropped on the point to land 3 fish weighing 24, 29 and 33-10 on mainline Grange and Andy Flint landed 3 nice fish fro the rock swim weighing 29-14 36-10 and a cracking 38-00 common using a new snail and shell bait.
As the avenue is a freezer boilie only water it is very interesting to see which baits produce the most fish it is early days at the moment but both the SBS Phaze 1 and a new bait from John Cooper’s pyramid baits. One thing is for sure the avenue carp get lots of top quality bait. If the big girls get caught before they spawn again I think our lake record will be broken!

6th June

We will re open this Friday 10 th of June at Dawn, as the carp unfortunately only spawned for about 12 hours and will need to spawn again, when we get another hot spell.so I will close the avenue again for a week if they start spawning again. If we loose any more time I will add a extra weeks fishing in April.

14th June

Closed for spawning

Lake closed until further notice. They started spawning Friday Night, but stopped today, due to the weather. I will update at the end of the week.

3rd June

The carp arent spawning as of yet however they are very close and so we will probably be shutting tomorrow.
We will inform you on here when we will re-open

1st June

The water will start to warm up this week, so there isa possibility the carp might spawn by the weekend.
When they do spawn, the avenue will close for a period of upto 2 weeks the day we close i will let you know on here the avenue update page.
RH

1st June

The avenue opened last Friday, and with a busy lake full of excited anglers, it was Billy mac who landed the first fish at 23 lb from the rock swim, shortly followed by a  29-08 from the steps by chris Eccles. Dave chancellor had a hectic couple of hours when he landed a 27,29 and the "relic" at 36-10 from the angle swim. The fish looked heavy and close to spawning, and it looked likely a new lake record was on the cards, so it was no surprise when a new member Ian Knowles landed a 28 lb mirror followed by a stunning new lake record common at 46-00 lb known as "Ellie" a fish that was last caught in march at 41-02,again like the monument the big girl fell for the  SBS phase. There were new 30's landed by rob humphries at 30-02 and dave chancellor also at 30-02. I hope the fish spawn soon, because I think they have been ready for weeks, but if they don't I think the lake record of 51-06 will be broken.

23rd May

The new season has certainly kicked of in style, and the average weight is amazing even though they havn't spawned. Billy mac landed the first fish a cracking 23-00 lb mirror which he later followed up with the big rhino at 33-04 from the rock swim, chris Eccles then landed a 29-08 from the steps, and up on the house bank rob humphries landed what I think is a new 30lb mirror weighing bang on 30, from the redwood, and ken lockley followed that with a 27-08 m from the cedar swim.Dave chancellor settled in the angle swim and sat morn had a three fish in a couple of hours, weighing 19-00c,29-00m and the "relic" at 36-10m. Andy walker turned up on sat afternoon along with Ian Knowles who joined the syndicate this year, late eve sat andy landed a stunning 31-08m and Ian opened his account with a chunky 28-14m, but it was late morning Sunday that the news reached me that the lake record common had been smashed when Ian Knowles landed "Ellie" at 46-00lb from the bay swim, and to say she was mint is a under statement. Andy & Ian are on the new SBS phase which I had been feeding all closed season, so if your unsure about your bait! Get on the phase. Also chris caddick arrived today for a day session in the steps , and landed two stunners at very close range, weighing 27-00 & 28-08

MONSOON CURRY

Rob Has agreed that for a minimum order of £15 Abdur will deliver to the Cabin on the avenue Mon - Thurs, menus in the cabin to order call Abdur on 01952 463344

19th April

Again during the last couple of weeks of the season which ended Sunday there were lots of stunning fish landed including 5 new 30’s and a cracking new 40lb common. Which is the second common over 40lb the avenue has produced this season.
Matt Wilshaw landed “Lucy” at 40-04 from the outlet swim. Matt Was using boilies from bandit baits.
The avenue is now closed for 5 weeks, which will allow the fish to feed heavily prior to spawning.

5th April

More big fish have been landed, since Jona, with pick of the bunch being Richie lampitts capture of " the little rhino" at 38-10 from the angle swim, this is one of my favourite fish, and one of the fastest growing in the lake.
Alongside Richie in the bay swim Chris Hinton landed a cracking 32-00 mirror. The best catch was a six fish hit, by Billy McKinven from the rock swim, with two 27's being the best, Billy used boilies from bandit baits and introduced four kilos of boilies. The season ends on the 17th of April, and the fish are left in peace for over a month, during which time we feed them heavily, to ensure they are top condition prior to spawning.  I am very hopeful the Avenue will produce some more big girls before the end of the season.

22nd March

The avenue has done a new lake record and its first 50 last week.

John Cooper landed a fish known as Jona last Monday on his own Pyramid baits PP60. John who has fished the water throughout the winter and baited the spot he fished heavily during this time landed the new lake record weighing a mighty 51-06.

Also Lee Postlewhite landed the lakes new recorded common the next day this stunning fish that weighed 41-03 had never been caught before and the syndicate has been on the lake for nearly 12 months now. It just goes to show how long the fish can go and avoid being caught for, and there are still a good few fish that still haven’t graced the bank. It will be interesting to see what weights they are if they get caught before they spawn!!

14th March

Lake record smashed and our first 50!
I am delighted to report that John Cooper has just landed "Jona" at 51-06 from swim 9 "the cedar"
John has been baiting that area of the lake all winter and it was in a freezing north east wind today that John Landed her after a mega battle.
See gallery for pics

22nd February

It has been a very quiet week on the monument, intact the only fish landed, other than a couple of small fish caught on the maggots was a 17 lber caught by Gerrard a very nice chap who visited the monument for the first time with Max Cottis, and Max suffered his first ever blank on the monument, which shows how difficult the conditions have been. However a week is along time on the monument, as things can and do change very quickly, with spring finally just around the corner, the fish will become very active, and it is theLuke Edwards has again be coming up with the goods while others have struggled he did a 36hr session and landed 3 fish only upper doubles low 20’s but 3 fish this time of year is very good going.
Also amongst the fish over the weekend were Jon Hudson and Matty Wilshaw who landed a fish each.
All the fish came over at least a kilo of boilies I think they were all fishing cell with bright flouro hookbaits.
This just shows that if the fish are feeding so heavily to be feeding over kilos of bait at this time of year that during the warmer months when people think that they are feeding them well by putting in 2 or 3 kgs of bait that is nothing big fish have big appetites.

15th February

Again like the monument the fish have started to move, and during those milder spells are catchable, Rob ventured out for a day on Friday and landed a couple of nice fish from the point weighing 15-04 and 21-00 using his all time favourite winter flavour sbs old English toffee. Also amounts the fish was Danny armitage with a 28-08 from treasures swim , and John cooper landed two upper doubles on his pp60 from the rock swim. All the fish seem to be a few pounds up on there autumn weights so they have coped better with the ice than I first thought.

8th February

Also on the avenue the fish have really started to move and feed.
Luke Edwards landing a couple of fish mid week including a lovely 24-00 linear.
Then at the weekend Chris Eccless landed 3 fish upto 212 from the point with his brother Andy landing a young 13lber from the steps.
Richworth Tuttis doing the business.
John wrench was one of the first syndicate members to fish a night session this year and had a early alarm call at 5:45am landing a 31-04 which is another new 30 for the avenue. Previously caught in September by Billy Mckinven.
Then Luke returned for a day session yesterday and had a take whilst I was working on the fishery, Luke played the fish for over 30mins and just as she came in close and I could clearly see the back and tail of the fish the line parted! Not a happy anglers as it was a VERY big fish!
But a couple of hours later I had a call from Luke to come and photograph another fish which turned out to be one of my favourite fish called the Big Rhino weighing 33-08, two and a half pounds up in weight from its last capture in September.
So even despite the severe winter the avenue carp are well up in weight from their September weights.

7th February

It's all starting to happen! After Luke caught a 16 and a 24 last fri , chris Eccles landed
two 20's and a 19 at the weekend and andy Eccles had one of the babies at 13lb. Last night
John wrench landed a new 30 weighing 31-04 from the steps, it is a fish that weighed 19 lb
on 4th august 2008 and has only been caught once since at 28-00 lb in aug 2010 by Billy
mac, if that is a measure then we will have lots of new 30's in the spring and a few new 40's!
Finally I was just working on the fishery when Luke had a take in the angle swim, a stood
by him whilst he played a fish for at least 30 minutes, I finally caught a glimpse of it's
back and tail just before the line parted, and it was a lump.

25th January

It’s been a tough week on all our waters with only 3 fish landed. In the freezing conditions
we have experienced this week combined with the thick fog they are all worth a mention.
Luke Edwards landed a 23-00 from the monument out of swim 6 on a zig and Danny Armitage had
an 18-00 from swim 7. Our only other fish to report was from the avenue where Simon Nichols
landed a 19-12 mirror when the daytime temperatures were just 2 degrees!

EXCITING NEWS

RH Fisheries have purchased some very special and very big new fish!
We have introduced 2 cracking fish into the Sitch weighing 33-08 and 35-00. Also you can
visit our website click on the new Sitch site and see video footage of them being stocked
We have also purchased 4 bigger fish which are absolutely stunning which are being quarantined
at the avenue until the autumn when we will be stocking 2 into the monument and 2 will
remain in the avenue.
We are keeping their weights a surprise until they are landed but they are already very big
as you can see and should be even bigger by the autumn as they will be on a demand feeder
from April – September
Also if this project is successful we have ordered a further 12 biggies for this winter that
we intend to spread between the monument and avenue and the Sitch pictures of all these fish
are on the rhfisheries.com website, and video clips should also be available on site soon.

17th January

Steve Hall did it again yesterday during a short day session on the point landing 3 fish 21-00 26-00 and 28-00 all the fish were mint We netted 95% of the carp and they looked superb there were plenty of lumps that i didnt recognise! The average weight was very impressive, A huge quantity of roach were removed and 40 carp were graded. The average weight of the fish looked a lot higher than i expected. RH

11th January

More good news on the avenue when I witnessed a superb piece of angling by syndicate member Steve hall who turned up to find the avenue 70% frozen, in fact only two swims were fishable, Steve chose the "L" bar swim and spotted a few bubbles about 60 yds out, as there was a few rays of sun shine on the lake. Steve had only had his baits out for 40 minutes when he had a screamer on his left hand rod, I don't know who was more shocked Steve, me, or the fish. But after a nervy fight he landed a cracking 27lb mirror and to make the capture even more special it was Steves p.b. And in the most extreme conditions as the picture shows, check out the ice in the background. To prove in wasn't just luck Steve landed another mirror weighing 23lb. Top angling fella well done. When someone catches in such hard conditions I always try and check out the rig, Steves was simple but very neat. Mainline pineapple pop ups did the damage in conjunction with Korda soft coated braid, a pinned down 8" hook link with a fox ssc size 7 hook.

Whilst the fish were in mint condition they didn't look as fat as I thought they would be, the prolonged period of ice and no food has clearly taken its toll on their weight. I think all the big fish in the country will be a touch down in weight early spring and therefore on the munch, let's hope so.

So make the most of this mild spell chaps because if you believe the long-range forecast the cold will be back.

Well done Steve Hall Top Angling
Steve fished a day session yesterday on the only swim that was ice free and landed a 27-04 and a 23-08 on pineapple popups. This morning his swim was frozen solid. I will break the ice today and looking at the forcast the avenue should be ice free by wednesday evening

ice update

we are hoping that although there is still a lot of ice there will be a few swims fishable by the weekend 8th january

20th December

Every year RH Fisheries receives hundreds of new applications from anglers wanting to join our fisheries, so with everything very quiet at the moment we thought we would tell you a little about our waters, and how we operate our waiting lists. firstly we ask you to write to rob hales at the badger hall address, as detailed on the website(www.rhfisheries.com), rob then writes back to every applicant acknowledging there letter and informing them they are on the waiting list, and when we will be back in touch. The first places go to applicants who have been recommended by a existing member, we also allow our current members to move from one water to another within our group of fisheries, which surprisingly happens quite a lot, then the remaining places are offered to new applicants on the waiting list, we will update you whether successful or not, so you can plan your season, it is impossible for us to put a exact time on each waiting list as it is purely dependent on the amount of places that become available in any one year! However even if your second choice water becomes available it would almost guarantee you a place in preferred syndicate the following season.

Weston park
We receive more applications for Weston than any of our waters, probably because the lake is so beautiful and private, located in the private grounds of a stately home. Size: Weston is 12acres with 13 swims 10 of which are open to the syndicate. Stock: there are 204 fish present of which 180 are over 20lb with the best fish landed in 2010 weighing 37-14 which was a common, there are plenty of other 30's with most of the bigger ones being commons,35-08 being the best mirror in 2010. The average size of the fish is now about 25lb and steadily growing every year. Rating: Weston is a easy water, as the fish love boilies, and they consistently out fish all other baits, they also love the floaters, but are a little more tricky to catch on the surface. Future: the fish are young and still growing well we carry out a drain down and de-stocking every couple of years to control the biomass of other fish and young carp. So Weston is set to keep improving.

Acton burnell
Currently our best water for the monsters! There are two stunning lakes at Acton which are only separated by a dam, the big lake is the lake featured in the wonderful new fishing DVD/programme "catching the impossible" with Martin bowler. Size: there are two lakes the big lake, which is 17 acres, and the lower lake being 7 acres. Stock: the big lake holds approx 120 fish of which there are 21 different 40's of which four are commons upto 48-12 being the best in 2010 and 49-04 the best mirror, the average weight being well over 30lb. The lower lake holds 23 original fish of which 5 have been caught over 40lb this year upto 48 lb with the big common recently landed at 51 lb, her best weight being 53-08 which is the lake record, the average weight being 36 lb, also there are a further 42 stockies weighing between 8 - 14 lb which have huge potential. Rating: the big lake is difficult and is fished by lots of very good carp anglers, the lower lake is very difficult as these lovely old fish have seen it all, but they are stunning. Future: there is an amazing head of big fish in the big lake, and the fishery is well balanced with these wonderful old fish still steadily growing, and in mint condition thanks to the handling of fish by the syndicate. A few 50's imminent! We now have 42 mega quality young fish in the lower lake to compliment the beautiful 23 originals and to ensure there are quality young fish coming through which will also take the pressure of the old girls.

The monument
Open to everyone on a 36 hr session ticket, not a syndicate! Probably the highest stocking density of 30's per acre in the uk! Also boasts four 40's and a lake record of 49-00lb. There are over 100 different 30's in the monument amongst a stock of 300 fish! The average weight last winter was 27 lb. However alot of quality anglers visit the monument and they have seen it all, ad to that the angling pressure and it is tricky water, but mega catches are always possible! Eg in a 36 hr session in 2010 sixteen different 30's were landed. To book on the monument call 01952-463141

The avenue
Our fishery with the greatest potential to produce a monster, located in the private grounds of robs home in Shropshire. Size: 10.2 acres in size with a average depth of six feet, with 17 swims. Stock: at present there 204 carp in the lake, but to ensure the continued growth of the best fish we will de-stock every year! In only it's second year we are Planning to remove 30 big doubles/ low 20's. The lake record is already 49-08 a fish that has gained 13-08 lb in less than two seasons! Also a fish known as "the little rhino" went from 23-00lb to 38-10lb in 23 months and has only been landed once. Most of the best fish are the big 30's coming through, and many still haven't been caught. Rating: moderate but starting to become harder as the fish wise up, and the head of fish reduces! Most fish only visited the bank once all season, and over thirty are yet to be landed. Future very exciting with massive potential, with the management of the fishery purely focused on growing the biggest carp possible. The syndicate only use freezer boilies and pellets to ensure the carp get the best possible food. The avenue will produce huge fish in the future.

The sitch
Our most recent water, that we took over in 2008 and another carp anglers dream! A naturally formed lake . Size a large beautifully shaped 26 acre shallow fishery, with 21 well spaced swims Stock created as a runs water with 420 fish present in the 10-24 lb bracket and a few bigger fish unto 35 lb which is a common. These fish are young and mega quality and growing fast. Rating the sitch is in it's infancy, but already showing signs that it will become a very special fishery over the next few years, we are already seeing lots of 20's coming through, and these fish are monument babies with great potential. we also plan to introduce some new 30's every winter, this year we have ear marked some cracking young mirrors in the 30 - 34 lb bracket. if you are after action with a chance of a 30 then the sitch is the water for you, and it won't be long before it produces some biggies.

16th November

The of anglers fishing on the avenue has dropped off considerably in the last few weeks with the slightly colder weather moving in however for the anglers that do brave it the rewards are still there and the Handley brothers are proof of this as last Saturday they did just a day session and Steve Handley had a cracking 27-12 from the steps swim. Also another angler named Steve did a day session and landed a 23-08. excellent proof that during the winter months a quick day or even sometimes afternoon session can be just as productive as a full 24hr session.

2nd November

The fish are very active at the moment at time putting on their own air display, however it is amazing how in its first year of being fished the carp have become so clever already. It is made harder because you can only use freezer boilies and pellets, but there are still lots of fish in the avenue that haven’t been caught and many that have been landed just once. They are growing faster than any of our fisheries in the past including Acton so they are clearly feeding hard but getting away with it. Matt Wilshaw managed 3 fish this weekend and Mark Randall did a day session and landed a 26-08 from the point swim.

26th October

The frosts have not only knocked back the fishing a little on the avenue it has really knocked back the number of anglers braving the cold weather in search of a whacker. But someone that did and got the reward for it was Shaun Jones who had a stunning 29-00 from a short day session. He get there first light to watch the water see where the fish rolled and put a small amount of boilies out about ½ kg of cell and fished 2 rods over the top he had to be off by late afternoon but knew that the hour before he went would be the time he would get a fish if was to happen which it did.

12th October

Another week and a couple more new 30’s were caught! Billy McKinven caught the best which was a cracking 35-00 we have called “BigMac” and Andy Eccless landed a lovely 31-12 both were first time captures and were caught on the same day together with a few other fish but since that spell it has gone very quiet with the fish enjoying this hot spell of autumn weather and not really feeding. As the avenue is a boilie only water we really do see various types of boilies fishing against each other with several types regularly being used. The top 3 at the moment are M1, cell and a boilie from bandit baits also john wrench has been successful using premier baits.

5th October

We had one of the most special fish landed this week I have ever seen, the fish known as “The LITTLE Rhino” was a resident of the original avenue and went into the new lake at 23-12 until Billy McKinven landed her at 38-10 from the rock swim. This is a spectacular quality fish, which we hope will reach 50lb in the next couple of years. It was a mad afternoon spell in the week when Billy landed the Little Rhino as he also landed 2 upper 20’s and another new 30 at 31-00. Next door to Billy was Chris Eccles who also landed a couple of upper 20’s and a 32-00 know as “The Bulldozer” Boilies catch all the fish on the avenue as it is a boilie and pellet only water! Also amongst the 30’s was Mr consistent John Wrench with a 30-08 from the steps swim. The carp in the Avenue have gained between 7lb and 9lb this year alone and we have had 16 different fish go over 30lb from doubles /low 20’s!

30th September

Another Cracker came out this week when Shaun Jones landed a stunning 37-00 mirror this is the first time the syndicate have caught this fish since she was stocked 21 months ago at 22lb We have now had 15 home grown 30’s come through in the avenue already this season with plenty of fish yet to be caught

21st September

The Avenue is fishing well with plenty of big 20’s being caught. A cracking common stocked at 16-00 in October 2008 has just been landed for the first time at 30-12 see the pictures on our website, awesome growth 14lb in under 2years. There were a few commons stocked bigger so it will be interesting to see what weights they come out at. John Wrench from Stoke landed the common together with a 24-00 and a 26-00. John fished the steps swims and used premier baits. Also amongst the new 30’s was Chris Eccles with a lovely 30-06 mirror. Chris also landed another fish bigger but it wasn’t recorded as the fish was foul hooked.

14th September

The lake record nudged up another 4oz this week when Rich Handley landed Jona the two tone mirror at 49-08 from Pete’s point swim using Bandit Baits boilies However the top bait at the moment is the SBS M1, which has produced several fish this week including this stunning 32-08 mirror landed by Shaun Smith who also fished Pete’s point I believe September / October are the 2 most consistent months for catching carp as they are feeding heavily to put their weight back on prior to the winter.

31st August

We new the fish in the avenue were piling on the weight but couldn't quite believe it when a very excited glen Walsh called me to say he had netted a big fish, I recognised the fish as JONA a fish that Ian mcmillian caught on the 8 th of June at. 40-06 but was amazed when she weighed 49-04 only 10 wks later, that is incredible growth, this fish certainly seems to have the potential to grow alot bigger. Glen had fished the monument for three years and the 40's had eluded him so it was very nice to see him land this fantastic fish, glen fished the feeder swim and baited with a kilo of sbs M1 boilies and used a double 16mm bottom bait at only 30 yds range.

24th August 2010

The carp are really piling on the weight, and surpassing anything we have achieved before, this week rich griffiths landed a 26-09m which weighed 12lb only 21 months ago, also John wrench has just landed a 32-11 mirror which weighed 17lb 21 months ago, we will hopefully show you the pics next week.

17th August

This last week it's been all about the Handley brothers, and in particular Steve who had a lovely 31 lb common last month has just landed a 29lb m and 3 new 30's in his last two visits weighing 30-02,30-02, and 34-10, which we showed last week. All three are first time captures, and these young fish have been piling on the weight, and it will be fascinating to see them grow. Steve's brother rich has also had a few upto 29-09 but can’t get amongst the 30's yet! The brothers have sussed that a group of the bigger fish are holding up in the corners of the lake in front of the pines swim. The lads are in a small bait syndicate using small 16 mm boilies with lots of shell in the bait. With the low pressure now in charge and plenty of much needed rain falling the fish seem to be well on the feed.

13th August

Hello chaps! I have become concerned recently that some anglers may have been using baits other than boilies and pellets. On this occasion I believe it was probably a case of anglers using pellets from a maggot tub, which obviously looks suspicious, therefore I want to reiterate my stance which is what all members brought into, that is get the fish as big as possible using the best baits ie quality freezer baits. Already the avenue has produced a spawned out 40 and 10 different 30's and it's only mid august. If the quality bait continues to go in then I am confident the avenue will produce 50lb plus fish within the next two years, and that's only around the corner, but as I always said the fishing will get harder! Iam happy for hook baits to be topped with foam or stopped like avids (avid carp) that look like corn but that's it.

Thanks for emailing the pics so soon
Enjoy your fishing RH

10th August

The avenue has only been fished by the syndicate for 8 weeks, and fish are being caught for the first time every week, and this week has seen some stunning young fish landed, with Steven Handley landing the pick of the bunch with a awesome 34-10 <!--[endif]--> mirror. This is a fish that I noted on my stocking records as a fish that I believe has all the qualities to become a very big fish in the future, so we will see, the fish in the avenue are all very young fish, with great potential, and when we de-stock any slow growers this Winter the biomass of the fishery will reduce to ensure the very best fish can for fill there potential. Others amongst some stunners were Billy Mac with a 31- 10m and Andy flint with a scaly 29-09 male fish.

3rd August

The fishery looks better and better every week, and the fish are starting to put there weight back on after spawning! It is still amazing how many fish are yet to be caught, they are clearly learning from the fish around them that make mistakes. Top rod this week was Billy Mac who had five fish unto 31-04, and believe me this fish is special, it weighed 17lb 20 months ago, stock proof pictures are on our website! I would be disappointed if this fish didn't reach 40lb in the next two years that's how good these fish are. Also I don't think it will be long before the current lake record of 40-06 is broken.
Mega new French venue.
Only new because it has only been discovered by English anglers this year the lake is a stunning, mature 25 acre lake located 40mins south of Limoges. The lake is called “Lac de ribierre” and is French owned by Michel Bonneau Ribierre holds approx 600 fish, which are growing extremely fast and the current 2010 lake record is 35.6khgs which is about 80-01lb. There are a number of other huge fish in the 60-70lb bracket with the bulk of the fish in the 30-45lb bracket. so whilst you have a realistic chance of a monster you can expect plenty of action. The lake is fished from one side only to prevent over casting which makes the fishing more pleasurable, The swims are gently sloping grass banks with mature trees. The far margin is a productive area and bait boats are allowed ( not rowing boats) the far margin distance ranges from 100yds to 130yds dependant on the swim. There are 11 swims.
I visited the lake in June and was 2 days into a very enjoyable session when a freak rain storm hit the region and we had to pull off( We had already caught 14 fish to 40lbs) I have rebooked for 2011 and I am taking several friends / journalists to promote ribierre so expect it to be well known by Christmas 2011. Dave and Phil who travelled with me have already rebooked for this September and next year. We will let you know how they get on. Ribierre offers both bivy fishing March -end May and Sept – mid Nov. All year round you can book a luxury Gite/cottage suitable for 4/6 persons. However carp anglers can only fish Ribierre in June, July and Aug if you book a Gite as this is Michel’s priority income. From 15th june to end august no lake exclusive bookings and for the rest of the year any whole lake bookings must include minimum of one gite as this is the complexs main business

Detailed below is how to book!
Contact Paul Armfield Tel: 07836 751753 Email: bathagent@googlemail.com Cost: 380 euro’s per angler per week! Paul has amazing pics of the ribierre monsters, which he will gladly email you.

I am helping promote Ribierre because it is a superb venue and my friend Paul Armfield is the exclusive UK booking agent for this fantastic fishery. You can only book Ribierre via Paul Armfield

Also as many of my syndicate members have already booked Ribierre I have secured a “one week” booking window for any RH Fisheries syndicate members prior to the book opening for 2012.
P.S. This venue has a realistic chance of producing a world record!! Regards RH

13th July

The fish have been much more active now the hot weather has moved off! Its fascinating knowing how many fish are still uncaught and seeing them avoid capture week after week. Still 50% of all the fish in the avenue are yet to be landed which just shows you how they learn by association, of what happens when other fish around them get caught. However Richie Lampitt fished the bay swim for 48hrs this week and landed 2 previously uncaught fish at 26-08 and 30-04. Even after spawning the growth rates were superb the 26-08 was stocked at 19-00 but the real impressive rate is the 30-04 was stocked at 17-00. That’s a 13-04 weight gain in 23 months after spawning. This is awesome growth when you consider this fish was probably mid 30 in may there are lots more surprises to come from the avenue yet. Also we will be de-stocking over 30 fish this winter to create more room for the best fish. DVD IN STOCK Des taylors In Pursuit of a 40 dvd filmed at the Avenue is now in stock at the monument priced £9.99

6th July

The Avenue was amazingly quiet considering that it was its first totally open weekend. I think a lot of anglers stayed off expecting it to be busy but so many all thought the same that there have been plenty of space for the anglers who did brave it. Richie Lampitt had a 21-10 out doing just a quick afternoon session. Also amongst the fish was Andy Walker who had 3 fish up to 26-08. Andy’s tactics were to put a bed of bait out 2kg of boilie and 3kg of pellet then fish SBS M1 hookbaits tipped with SBS Corn poppers.

29th June

Great to get anglers back on the banks after our closed period although its been almost to hot to be enjoyable this week with the carp showing little interest in feeding although Devon Audos showed his father how to do it landing mirrors of 16-00 25-06 and 39-00 from the rock swim on premier boilies. Also on his first visit Baz Griffiths landed a 30-04 from the gap swim on Nutrabaits trigga ice. The Avenue is a freezer boilies and pellets only syndicate to ensure the carp get the very best bait. Exclusive offer to syndicate members The DVD that Des Taylor filmed on the Avenue "In Search of a 40" Is available from SBS rrp £15 however syndicate members get it at a greatly reduced rate of just £5 so to bag your copy contact SBS on 01562 754172

18th June

I returned from a french trip early to find the carp spawning for a secong time in the avenue However today the 18th they appear to have stopped, so we will be opening as scheduled with the 2nd session starting monday 21st. New French Venue Until the rain storms hit us in france we were fishing a new venue which was superb and has produced fish to 80lb. I will write t you a members and mention it.

10th June

The lake record was broken again yesterday when Iain "Ting Tong" Mcmillan fished a 24hr session as a guest for a Crafty Carper feature and had one bite, which was 40-06. This fish could go very big next sprimng as it was totally spawned out, but in mint condition, (see pic gallery) exciting times ahead at the avenue.

31st May

The fish finished spawning about 6 days ago and have been heavily on the feed since. I am feedign them loads at the moment. Its looking good for the re-opening on June 21st.

20th May

AVENUE CLOSED Today 20th may the aveunue has closed for spawning the 2nd/35rd/4th sessions have been re scheduled. All memebers will recieve a letter by saturday. RH 18th May The syndicate started on Saturday and its been action and more action! Over 40 fish have been landed already with 90% of the fish already well over 20lb several 30’s have been caught with Shaun Jones catching the best common so far at 33-10 and the best mirror falling to Matt Wilshaw at 35-02. Popups over large beds of boilies and pellet are catching the fish however the avenue is a boilies and pellet only water so the fish maximise their growth potential. The growth rates being achieved are the best we have ever experienced and the carp are in mint condition.

11th May

Des Taylor fished last week for a few days to make a DVD, which is due for release in June! Des had a few doubles, 4x 20’s upto 26-08 and then he landed a magnificent 34-08 which was stocked at 17-00 in June 2008. This is the best growth rate we have ever achieved on any of our waters. The syndicate start on Saturday and I think there will be plenty more surprise’s, we will keep you posted in Carptalk.

10th May

The Avenue has Surpassed even my Expectations! As last week I allowed Des Taylor to fish for a few days to make a DVD! Despite freezing North winds Des had a few doubles, 5 x 20s and a spectacular 34-08m which was stocked at 17-00 in June 2008. 17-00 to 34-08 in 23 moths Thats the best growth we have ever achieved. It is very exciting to see how big the bigger ones are! See pic gallery for the photos

27th April

Firstly a big thankyou to Chris Tarrant, Matt Hayes, Max Cottis, Steve Briggs, Des Taylor, Rich Lee and co for joining us at the opening. We had a fantastic weekend with 22 fish landed of which 10 were doubles 10 wee 20’s and 2 were 30’s. Max was top rod with 9 fish upto 30-04 a fish which was 19lb 22months ago. Max baited heavily using 34kgs of mixed bait to hold the fish! Max fished the gap swim at 80yds range against the bar. Rich lee landed the biggest fish at 34-02 from Pete’s point and Des Taylor had 4 fish including a nice brace at 25-00 and 26-00. The syndicate start on May 15th and I cant wait to see all the fish on the bank.

26th April

It was a great open weekend at the Avenue with the following guest anglers fishing. Chris Tarrant Des Taylor Andy Walker Matt Hayes Steve Briggs Max Cottis Rich Lee Rich Griffiths Rob and Josh Hales Dave Treasure 22 fish were landed which included 12 x doubles 8 x 20's upto 28-00 and 2x 30's wighing 30-04 and 34-00. some of the weight gains were amazing the 28-00 was stocked at 15-00 and the 30-04 was stocked at 19-00. Also as you can see the fish were immaculate. It is probable that the Avenue could hold over 20 x 30's already The syndicate starts on May 15th

23rd March

2years of hard work will become reality on April 24th - 25th when a group of select anglers and celebrities will be invited to fish the avenue for its official opening. We will let you know how they get on in Carptalk.

4th January

I am very excited about the potential of the avenue to produce all the other big carp! Already mid doubles from last year are mid/upper 20’s so there are certainly achieving the best growth rates we have experienced. This water has everything needed to produce big fish 10.5 acres, no silt, good average depth, excellent exchange of water 12months of the year and a low stocking level which will be reduced every season as the fish grow. The fishery holds 205 fish and due to their growth rates we may de stock upto 40 fish this summer to ensure the big fish have plenty of room to grow. The biggest fish we have managed to grow in Shropshire is "Bill" the big common in Acton who peaked at 55lb I am confident that in the next few years the avenue will produce a bigger fish than that. 1st December

Des Taylor was invited to fish for a day on Saturday for a feature in next weeks Angling times. Despite freezing conditions Des had a stunning 27-00 mirror which was stocked at 19-00 last year. 24th November We have invited Des Taylor and Andy Walker for a day session for a feature and Iain Mcmillan and Lewis Porter for another. Conditions aren’t going to be easy late November early December but we will let you know how they get on.

26th October

This weekend the 24th -25th of October my self and guests fished the avenue which was arranged as a thankyou to everyone who helped me. 16 anglers turned up full of excitment, and after casting out and baiting up the fish stopped showing, however after an uneventful day we enjoyed a bbq and a few beers then made our way back to the swims after just a few minutes I managed a lovely 19-08m and shortly after shaun jones had a 25-08m. The night was quiet with lots of fish crashing but no runs then Sunday produced a further 4 fish upto 22-00 Whilst we didnt catch anywhere near the amount of fish i thgought we could the condition and weights of the fish was amazing. The 3 20's were between 4-08 and 10-08 up in weight in just over a year. Shaun Jones fish had put on 10-08 in just 16 months and andy walker 22 had put on 8-00 in exactly 1 year. We have shown you the pics and weights and dates of them stocked alongside the captures yesterday, these are the best weight gains we have ever achieved on any water which means the avenue not only already holds fish to 40lb in my opinion but is certain to produce a lot of big fish in the future. 15th September

The syndicate is now full and we are operating a waiting list for the following season call us on 01952 463141 to apply.
We are holding a 36hr session at the end of October for the lads who worked on the fishery we will show you the pics. The syndicate is now full and we are operating a waiting list for the following season call us on 01952 463141 to apply.

18th August

Feed, feed, feed is the main job at the avenue in preparation for our invitation weekend in October for people who have helped us work on the fishery an then our opening for the syndicate next May. A 24hr test fishing session produced fish to 28lb and showed growth of upto 6lb over the last 12 months even after spawning. There are thousands of baby chunky carp fry now present, which we will remove during the Autumn/Winter. 11TH aUGUST The work on the completing of the avenue is now all done and the work to select the members for the syndicate is now underway. Letters have been sent out to the first 60 people to send in a letter requesting consideration and they have had a letter sent out inviting them to an open day in September. The people that wrote in and haven’t received a letter are on the waiting list. Further to the invitation weekend for membership we will contact people on the waiting list to inform them of the situation.

4th August

Dave and rob did a 24hr session to check on the condition of the fish after spawning and landed 11 fish upto 28-00. This fish was 23-00 last July so the fish is up 5lb in weight in just 12months. All the fish were in mint condition and all had gained between 4-6lb in the last 12 months. When you consider we photographed fish upto 34-00 a year ago there could be a few biggies by next May when we open. During October there will be a 36hr session for the anglers who have helped us with the work on the lake so we will show you the pics of the best fish caught. Until then they are being fed 160 kgs of pellet per week plus 40kg of maize and 10kgs of special boilies.

28th July

The fishery is complete and ready to open well ahead of schedule next May. The open days are taking place in September if you haven’t received an invite having applied then you are on the waiting list for the following season. I will be carrying out a test fish soon to see how the fish have recovered after spawning. So you should be able to see some recent pics of the fish soon. If the fry are a measure of the carps progress then things are looking good as the fry are the biggest and fattest I have ever seen for August fry only 2 months old.

30th June

The fish have spawned 3 times during this hot but inconsistent weather, but are finally back on the feed! Thousands of tiny carp are hiding under the marginal weed. So we will introduce some pike/perch this winter to keep them under control. The swims are nearly finished and the fishery is looking fantastic if you have applied for membership you will receive a letter in July to attend an open day in September.

23rd June

We have had some ariel photos taken a year on from when the avenue was extended. We shall show you some of the photographs in the coming weeks. If you have written in for membership you will be contacted at the end of this summer to come and see the fishery and listen to our plans for the future.

16th June

The swims are now nearing completion and the fishery is looking superb. With this hot /cold weather the fish are spawning for the third time as I write. If you have written in for membership you will be contacted at the end of this summer t come and see the fishery and listen to our plans for the future.

11th May

The fishery really is starting to look stunning, the fish have already tried to spawn, but are back on the feed with these north winds chilling the water. We have had three hobby hawks feeding on the insects and swallows all week at the avenue. It has been spectacular watching them. Call 01952 463141 for info on how to get your for the syndicate in 2010

7th April

The weight gains we had hoped for have become a reality, Rob fished with his sons for a few hours last week and landed a stunning 24-04 mirror which was photographed and weighed last July at 19-00. When you consider fish over 30lb were weighed then we could then be in for a few real biggies from the start we will show you a pic next week. NEW WATER "THE SYTCH" The White Sytch. RH Fisheries has formed a partnership with Ed Matthews, and acquired the control of a spectacular naturally formed 26-acre lake located very near to our Weston Park fishery. The lake has never previously been fished and is known to have produced carp to 18-00 back in the 1830’s After carrying out test netting’s to see what the lake holds, we will be stocking 1000 young monument carp weighing6 –10lb together with 50 young 20lb+ fish there is lots of work to be done throughout 2009 to get the lake fishable for 2010. Should you wish to apply to join the syndicate please send a letter to Ed Matthews 4 Bridgeman Court, Weston under lizard, Staffs, TF11 8QH. You will then receive a reply and be invited to see the lake this autumn, or call 01952 463141 to find out more. I assure you, you will be impressed!

26th January

Anglers who have applied to join the syndicate will be contacted during the summer to visit the fishery and be interviewed for membership of the syndicate. Also from Sept 1st we will be taking bookings for the luxury cabin at the Avenue for weekly sessions for upto 2 anglers.

23rd December

Exciting times for us at the Avenue the fish seem to feed whatever, as they have not been subjected to angling pressure! We have been feeding them heavily on maize wheat and quality freezer boilies over recent weeks. I’m confident when we open in June 2010 the growth rates of the fish will have surpassed those achieved at The Monument.

24th November

We are just starting our tree planting around the fishery having invested in over 100 trees from Barchams. We are very pleased with the progress the avenue is making and by the time we open in June 2010 the fishery will look stunning and most importantly the carp will be in magnificent condition having been fed heavily for 24 months undisturbed. We are confident the Avenue will become our best big fish water. 28th October Despite the cold weather the fish are still active! Although e are now starting to reduce the volume of pellet being introduced and increasing the wheat, maize and boilies as the water temperature drops. We may catch a couple of the fish over the winter to monitor their growth and condition, if so we’ll show you the pics as and when.

7th October

We have settled on a carefully calculated 2-6 fish in The Avenue, which will ensure the fishery is very productive but at the same time allows the fish to maximise their growth. The fish are of exceptional quality and al between 3 –7 years of age, so the future potential is very exciting. We have achieved weights upto 49-00 in The Monument with over 300 fish in 8 acres, so with 206 in 10.2 acres of high quality spring water which is The Avenue it looks promising.

23rd September

The Lake is now flowing out over the overflow such has been the rainfall in recent weeks. The fishery looks fantastic already and the water quality is superb. I believe the Avenue will become the best of all RHF waters such is its potential.

9th September

2008 The lake is now full and looking superb! The water quality at The Avenue is excellent, and the fry that spawned in June are the biggest 3-month-old fish I have ever seen. So it looks good for the big girls.
